What would you think if you were invited to this?

It is my wedding anniversary soon, and as per usual I am organising things in advance.

I am inviting another 2 couples round for gallons of wine and lots of home made nibbles (all vegetarian as two of them are vegetarians), and also play a game of 1980's trivial pursuit.

The three women get on like a house on fire and have been out on a night out and the men are the same, though they have never been out boozing together.

If you got an invite where you knew it would be good company, good food and wine would you go? I'm just a bit unsure with the trivial pursuit aspect of it, but really fancy it.

Personnally i would run a mile because although I love the lots of booze and food bit I'm really crap to the point of embarassment at Trivial Pursuits

PsychoFlame · 11/04/2005 18:56

I'll go anywhere with drink

It sounds a great night to me (including the trivial pursuit.. we don't play enough games these days!!!)

It sounds lovely, go for it! What's not to like?

snafu · 11/04/2005 18:56

oooh, sounds like my ideal evening

iota · 11/04/2005 18:57

I'd like it - but then I love Triv as I am a mine of useless information

snafu · 11/04/2005 18:58

Me too iota - and am pathetically competitive at it

coppertop · 11/04/2005 18:58

It sounds fantastic!

juniperdewdrop · 11/04/2005 18:58

sounds great fun, hope you have a lovely night

BubblesDeVere · 11/04/2005 18:58

WWW, i usually have nights in with mates with wine, but fancied something different, i am as thick as pig shit and won't get any right, but i think it will be a laugh and dredge up memories of the 80's, which for me is one of the best decades.

I don't want to come across as boring but sometimes i like something different than the television.

Ooh looks like I'm the only one then I would like Scrabble though!!!

Potty1 · 11/04/2005 18:59

Bubbles - we do something like this most New Year Eve's. We always have a great time, starts off nice and civilised with a quiz thingy and this year ended up with us singing on dd's SingStar PS2 game and crippling ourselves on the dance mat (and we are all well over 35)

Can we come?

Whizzz · 11/04/2005 19:00

Sounds good to me. I keep threatening to organise a night with friends where we all drink too much & play silly kids games eg Buckaroo & Kerplunk !!

vict17 · 11/04/2005 19:00

or you could make up your own quiz that had fun pop questions etc and not politics/geography which is the bit i'm crap at in Trivial Pursuits

BubblesDeVere · 11/04/2005 19:00

Potty, of course you can more the merrier.

Sounds like a great evening to me Bubblesmedear! Maybe don't mention the games until at least 3 bottles of wine have been consumed between you all, then it'll sound much more fun.
