A friend on my list has joined this, should I delete him?

Don't delete him with out telling him why, but i wouldn't want to be his friend anymore.

But I would be inclined to do so and change my status to "X and Y are no longer friends, because y is apparently a racist bigot." so as to make all your friends aware of why you deleted him.

Personally I've never understood these causes on facebook. It's not as if they're going to make a difference is it?

Everyone is entitled to their views but I wouldn't want to be friends with any of the people posting on that group board- very offensive, very aggressive and very worrying.

Facebook either brings out the worst in people or they tell you what they're really like. I'm not sure!

I have recently deleted my account - one of the mums in the village joined a group a bit like that and although i didn't know her well (she was in my emails because of preschool) i was pretty shocked. Also old uni friends i joined primarily to keep in touch with seem to have some very dodgy friends indeed - and "Your mother is a whore and i f***d her etc." seem to be de rigour . Not just from friends but in answer back etc.

So are people idiots or does facebook bring out the worst in people - like a bullying can't be touched mentality?

And this is from relatively normal cousins of DH etc. with children etc. - just odd!

I think some people do not consider the implications of how they think. This same person also joined 'let's get racist and offensive groups off Facebook...', so if he appreciates the sentiment there why does he subscribe to such appalling bigotry - perhaps he hasn't thought how it would be to live under the BNP......

Maybe they have joined to try to destroy it from within? Probably not, but it's a nice thought.

Maybe....I doubt it though. I would be ashamed to think anyone would think I had joined such a 'cause'. Vile in the extreme. I can't believe people have such hatred in their hearts.

Reported it. Had a similar thing a few weeks ago- group about Michael Shields and general scouse hating bile, twas awful.

These things scare me, my BIL who I thought was a reasonable sort told me he voted BNP in the last two elections.... And when I was shocked he said he is fed up with nobody listening to him as a white English tax payer.

The government does need to look at how our economy can continue to survive with so many people taking out (home grown and foreign, regardless of skin colour, religion or nationality) and fewer putting back in, or frustration will make reasonable people vote BNP, as they will feel that the BNP is the only political party wiling to listen.

I say this is a child of immigrants into this country, the hate is being fuelled by too much being given for not enough received!

Tried to report it, got a message saying 'you have already submitted a report for this content'. So I guess there has been a thread like this before. And it didn't work.

You don't need to read any of the comments on the board - just look at the photos of the posters. Inbred simpletons who drink cheap lager. The best of British....hmmmm.

I think we may all be reporting it on op's facebook account. Try reporting it from your own and see what happens.

Have you noticed that the people who start these groups often have a poor grasp of grammar and spelling.

Could it be that they are thick as pig shit, I wonder? Just a thought.
