Ours was Just The Way You Are, by Bill Joel. Loved it then and love it now. Although if we renewed ur vows, we'd have Still the One, Shania Twain. Words are unbelivable true.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/02/2009 22:44

We had The Fun Lovin Criminals version of We Have All the Time in the World.

We'd have it again in a flash

OneLieIn · 06/02/2009 22:44

The Way You Look tonight by Frank Sinatra - i would have it again and again, love it.

TigersEnglandChick · 06/02/2009 22:47

If we'd had one (DH far too much if a wall flower) it would have been Still the One, too, Maureen. We couldn't have it during the 'service' as we had a civil ceremony and, then, you couldn't have any religious references.

Heated · 06/02/2009 22:48

true love ways dh used sing it to me when walking home late of an evening and if the streets were empty he'd slow dance too

LackaDAISYcal · 06/02/2009 22:50

As a matter of interest OP, why didn't you have the Nick Cave one?

iMum · 06/02/2009 22:50

we had this it was very long too!

rempy · 06/02/2009 22:51

Didnt have one. If we were to be forced to the dance floor my DH had chosen some dreadful Pogues fracas.

But we did go down the aisle to the Austin Powers tune, that was also sampled in "my definition" played by a string quartet. Took most of the audience a while to get that one.

nancy75 · 06/02/2009 22:52

so nobody had this www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vqiw-Kqtlr0 ? (it takes a minute to load and you need to watch for a bit)

yousaidit · 06/02/2009 22:55

lacka... dh wouldn't have it, he didn't mind the song, but said it was too slow and we'd be shufling round looking daft. as it was, with our nimble feet, we had vic goddard, and shuffled round lokking daft...

Al Green - Lets stay together.

Woooozle100 · 06/02/2009 23:05

wish it was zoom by fat larry's band

EsmeWeatherwax · 06/02/2009 23:06

We had some hideous scottish waltz. I wanted Neil Diamond's Delirious Love, or Iris, by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Disclaimer: I am Scottish, and wouldn't have it any other way, but I feckin hate ceilidhs! The inlaws won with that one!

HolyGuacamole · 06/02/2009 23:12

Caruso - the Andrea Bocelli version

Aw, puts a happy tear in my eye just thinking about it

Love the Fun Lovin Criminals one - fab!!!

gemmummy · 06/02/2009 23:15

my first, my last, my everything...Barry White! You can't beat it. I still write in DH's cards , you're still my first, my last, my everything soppy sod aren't I!

EyeballsintheSky · 06/02/2009 23:17

Ronan Keating, When You Say Nothing at all. We didn't choose it as I didn't want a first dance. The band chose it when they knew the wedding was half Irish and it does bring a tear to my eye now.

We specifically stated no first dance, so I shall never know what on earth the DJ was thinking when he called us up dance to dancing queen by Abba!!

Of all the songs to have as your first dance

BelleWatling · 06/02/2009 23:21

My husband wanted that Nick Cave one as well. I wasn't a fan at the time but now am although my choice would be The Ship Song.

We had (indie kid alert) Just Like Fred Astaire by James and I still love the lyrics

"I believe in Hollywood
Don't believe that love must bring despair"

WEESLEEKITLauriefairycake · 06/02/2009 23:25

'Your Song' - Elton John with dh.

'Zombie' by the Cranberries - first husband

You don't have to be Freud to work out whats going on in those choices
