Trolls, where are they now and which ones do you remember?

Obviously JF/W&R can be classed as a troll.

There are one or two others that I remember, such as one thread that was clearly started by a young male with nothing better to do except try to stir things up on here, along the lines of "I'm a sahm with a ?yr old ds, I like girls and want to meet some, but I don't know how to tell my husband". The whole tone of the post, spellig mistakes and everything just cried out TROLL!! I'm not sure anyone fell for this one and actually replied.

Which other ones can any of you remember?

I think if you assumed Night was genuine, even if you are wrong, it says more about you and your humanity and your inate goodness

I didn't have anything constructive to say to someone in that position, so I avoided the thread. I am sorry I am suspicious, but I hope to god I am right, because it means one less 3 year old losing a parent

Mud · 08/04/2005 16:51

If someone is genuine and they spend what little time they have on a parenting website rather than actually parenting then more fool them

stop trying to tug at heartstrings hulababy that really isn't the point here now is it?

Hulababy · 08/04/2005 16:51

Fair enough - go ahead; I just don't have to like it.

No you don't

but you also don't have to come in with that faux-empathy for the world stance that is so gut-wrenchingly annoying

Shit - I meant to press preview not post

I apologise unreservedly for that remark hulababy, it wasn't fair of me

Gwenick · 08/04/2005 16:53

and lets not also forget that this was her(?) FIRST post. It wasn't like she's a regular that has thought "I know those wonderful MN'ers may be able to help me find some poems etc". If I was searching for information on poems for the purpose she required them for I doubt very much whether Mumsnet would appear very high on my 'google' search with the terms I would use.

Oh, stop it Mud. I am allowed an opinion on this just as much as you.

Fio2 · 08/04/2005 16:54

yes you should go on member profiles and type some crap in about your age before you tell everyone your three yr old has shoved a dice up his nose

Cod - why exactly are you singing The Carpenters at me?

serenity · 08/04/2005 16:54

You can do a post under 'member profiles' if you want, but it's not compulsory

dinosaur · 08/04/2005 16:55

Lol at mud.

Coddy did one of your DSs really shove a dice up his nose? My bil shoved a toy petrol pump up his nose when he was little.
