I have just changed to pay it monthly by direct debit, and it's £90, they said my average per month (Winter and summer) was £86. just wondered what everyone else pays, and if I am 'normal!'

£43 which is very very inexpensive to everyone else I know, my neighbours heat my house up I think (we are mid terrace)

ilovetochat · 09/01/2009 20:45

£90 joint dd but i think we will be in debt when bill comes.

wrinklytum · 09/01/2009 20:45

£77 FOR G+E but this was based on summers usage and am sure we will end up owing....Live in 3 bed semi central heating, washing machine, dual fuel cooker,no dishwasher or tumble dryer....Am with EDF.

Iwanttobeamillionaire · 09/01/2009 20:49

£90 too, and moved in 3 months ago so it seems about right after receiving our first bill. Hoping I will be in credit after the summer though! Tumble dryer on constant at the mo!

mooseloose · 09/01/2009 20:50

I am with eon- my last bill was about £125 gas, and elec about the same.

Guitargirl · 09/01/2009 20:57

75 a month for elec, we don't have gas.

We have no dishwasher or tumble dryer. We're also with EDF.

mysterymoniker · 09/01/2009 20:58

bill for last quarter worked out at about £150 a month for gas and electricity together, if I've divided £460 by 3 correctly?

Geepers · 09/01/2009 21:00

About 150 for both, but I have heating set on around 19 all day and use tumble drier year round to dry everything.

RumMum · 09/01/2009 21:07

I pay £50 for electricity and £40 for gas...
3 bed semi... with british gas for both we're in credit at the moment but we're had the heating on thermostat control 24/7 for weeks now, so it will probably even out...

Laugs · 09/01/2009 21:32

49 per month for gas and electric combined. We're with Eon and live in a 3-bed flat. No tumble drier or dishwasher and we're good about turning lights/ appliances off. Normally have thermostat set at 18-20.

ChasingSquirrels · 09/01/2009 21:34

paying £31 per month elec, but just done a reading to correct an estimated bill, and last 3 months is £146.
Heating & hot water is oil fired, we have approx 2,000 litres a year. so next fill up will hopefully be cheaper with the drop in oil prices.

duckyfuzz · 09/01/2009 21:36

£91 a month joint DD, incredit after last bill (last week) 4 bed detached in NE

harpomarx · 09/01/2009 21:36

currently £65 a month for both, large flat - gch and I'm not very good about turning things off/down

PandaG · 09/01/2009 21:37

£85 combined - 4 bed end terrace, dishwasher but never use tumble dryer

gigglewitch · 09/01/2009 21:37

we've been sent a new statement this week - and were a bit because even tho we are currently £225 in credit with them, i.e.They Have My Money, they want to increase our payments for both together - to £130/month. Scottish Power. 3 bed 1930's fairly large semi. three kids and continuous washer and dryer use! Stil... Am about to go comparing!!!

TequilaMockinBird · 09/01/2009 21:38

I pay £160 a month for both and am at how little everyone else's seems to be!

I only have a small 2 bed flat so I think I may have to have words with NPower or shop around!

feedthegoat · 09/01/2009 21:42

Our DD has just gone up to £128 for both a month with British Gas. Worst is Gas at £88 p/m. Might have to reassess the 7 or 8 hours a day the heating is on if this goes on much longer. We are going to have to look at switching if possible too.

hairymcclary · 09/01/2009 21:43

I have a similar thread bout this. Mine is £262!!! Am hoping there is an error tho.
Although i do have a tumble drier (used bout 4-5 times a week), x2 electric heaters (on most of the day), gas heating for the rest of the house also on most of the day, but only 4 out of 7 days while im home.

TequilaMockinBird · 09/01/2009 21:46

hairy!

Mine is pennies in comparison, which makes me feel a bit better lol

hairymcclary · 09/01/2009 21:48

Tequilla
Im with Npower too! Which makes me wonder...!

yogabird · 09/01/2009 21:49

£17 per month gas, for the heating and £40 for the electricity. We have a 4 bed detached - we do have an open fire to supplement too though. Couldn't afford what some of you are paying We are with Southern electric. My water bill is the worst - it's more than the gas and electi=ric combined!

PavlovtheCat · 09/01/2009 21:49

£30 gas, £30 electric per month, am in £40 credit with gas, a little behind on electric (was £115 this quarter, but should balance out over year. Live in a 2 bed conerted victorian apartment with a loft so we keep good heat in all sides. But use too much electricity.

mooseloose · 09/01/2009 22:23

I thought my £90 combined seemed a bit high (eon) but I guess its average really. Its a 3 bed semi. I go round turning lights off, but it's all in vain really as I have three boys all with their own playstation/tv on! I dont use the tumbler unless uI'm desperate. I have two fish tank plugs on 24/7 too!

nannyL · 10/01/2009 10:30

£30 for both

but i am hardly ever here, (out for 11 hours a day) and eat at work so arnt even using my oven, or washing up loads of stuff etc

i dont have my heating on much... just an hour or 2 in the evening (3 in this weather)

i turn everything off etc and line dry,

its a mid terrace and the neighbours are both around and in all day and im sure they warm my house up a bit too...

saying that this morning my bathroom was a record low of 5C

heating on right now obviously!

Hulababy · 10/01/2009 10:32
