Didnt know where to post! Ds2 due anytime soon and ds1 goes to preschool of which we drive to as too far to walk.

IT is quite a walk from where we park the car and you cant get a pram past the gate (stupid i know!) as it has one of those bar type things to stop kids running on the road and when you get to preschool you cant take prams in anyway you have to leave them outside (under a cover) i obv wouldnt leave baby there so had planned on using car seat from door inside whilst picking ds1 up. What do i do? Its going to be too long a walk carrying the car seat with baby in esp as i have bad back. Didnt want to have to fart around getting baby out of seat, into a carrier, strap him in, get ds and get 2 kids into car seats. WHAT DO I DO??

Am i going to have to carry him in all the time in my arms? Is there no easier way that im just not thinking about?

Get some wheels for your car seat.

Coorie

I had one for BabyDragon and could wriggle myself out of the sling, strap her in the carseat still wrapped in it and we were off. No tying or wrapping and IME perfect for school run journeys and other similar trips.

im asking these silly questions because ive never used anything like this, that coorie one looks simple, but wont baby get wet? I cant measure myself for it until after ive had baby so have to do without for a few weeks if i got that one!

I used an umbrella.

IIRC, the site says it doesn't matter if you measure whilst pregnant.

mad4baby....

yes before you leave the house you can strap you and the baby up and just clip and unclip as and when...
he can wear it while strapped safely in the car seat and i see no reason why you couldnt wear yours all the time either
(Im sure the mum i used to know used to wear hers almost all day long!)

it really is that simple (though on the hottest of hot summer days baby might be a bit hot, in the sling part, but we dont really have that many very hot summer days anyway)

Slings are great , IF you like them, not everyone gets on with them.

I also got an old car seat attached a long strap from a secure point and used to "drag" it around with youngest in it. I'd pick it up for rough bits and stairs (Duh!) . I did get a few odd looks but it saved my back , baby was comfy, never seemd to mind the bumpy ride and I could put rain cover over if needed. Just a thought if you don't mid looking a bit odd !

I did try to put a skate board under it but never seemed to get it to stop sliding off.
