Thought I'd start the ball rolling here.
I'm easy on dates must say, 17th is St Patricks day actually so may come across lots of Guiness

Location is another matter as I'm ashamed to admit I still haven't got my driving licence ( embarassing at 30), although have test on 14th so maybe...
Reigate maybe Pizza Express would be my preference but I'll go with the majority...just looking forward to it

Great - thanks for starting a new thread - probably a good idea. Angelmother - if you want I could give you a lift, since I'm very close. (Or if you want to check me out first I could at least give you a lift home afterwards!
Pizza Express in Reigate would be fine by me - or, if we want an even cheaper night out I have some "buy one, get one free" vouchers on main courses at Cafe Uno in Reigate (further along the high street) Could make for a cheap night out (or we could spend it on wine .....)

P.S. In case anyone is confused, this is the EasT Surrey meet-up - think Angelmother was so excited she got dyslexic typing fingers

sykes · 25/02/2003 09:41

Pizza Express at Reigate is good for me/Cafe Uno. I'll be on the train and get a cab home as am fairly likely to have more than the one glass ... Dates are fine for me. Look forward to meeting everyone.

I would love to come along, I've never been to a mumsnet meet-up. Do you do this regularly?

However, I'm like Angelmother in that I don't drive so is anyone is coming from the Carshalton area? Perhaps we could travel together.

Mo2 · 25/02/2003 19:51

OK - following on from the discussion on the "Anyone given birth at East Surrey hospital" thread....

What do people feel about Weds 17th March at the Old Bell pub in Old Oxted? Think this is building in some of the preferences for days/location?

Dollymixture - do join us! Although there are Mumsnet meet-ups springing up all over the place I don't think we've had a Surrey one yet!
I'm sure someone can give you a lift.. any takers? If not, we could meet you off a train or something?
So far we're looking at 6 : (Angelmother; Sykes; SB34; Pupuce; Dollymixture and me)...

Mo2 · 25/02/2003 19:52

Oops - no - of course I mean Weds 19th March - sorry.......

pupuce · 25/02/2003 22:51

Sounds fine to me but I may have to cancel at last minute because I am on-call for an expectant mum....

ANGELMOTHER · 26/02/2003 10:08

Sorry not been online dh kicked me off last night.
All dates and places are fine for me ..
Wednesday 19th March at The Old Bell in Oxted,
looking forward to meeting everyone if a little shy suddenly.

Marvellous - Wednesday 19th March at The Old Bell, Oxted. Will someone book a table/not that it will be that busy, I wouldn't have thought.

miriamw · 26/02/2003 11:50

Is there room for another one? I'm not giving birth at the East Surrey, though it was an option, but live in Purley. Alas at 30+ weeks pg I won't be drinking and can therefore probably manage to give Dollymixture a lift...

Bumblelion · 26/02/2003 11:53

I have only just heard about this meet up and would love to join you. I live in Carshalton so could give Dollymixture a lift - but presume this is a "night" meeting as opposed to a day.

ANGELMOTHER · 26/02/2003 13:30

Ha Ha we're going to have to hire a room at this rate
Bumbelion, Miriamw great now we've got 2 more, it is an evening meet-up though as I think some of us work full-time.
Maybe this evening when the working mums are on we can arrange a time and book a table if needs be ...

OP posts:
sykes · 26/02/2003 14:44

I work full time but "occasionally" dip in .... I can be there around 6:30/6:45 - or later, whatever suits.

Bumblelion · 26/02/2003 14:45

I work Wednesdays and don't get home until 6:30 pm. Is it going to be held at The Old Bell, Oxted - is that the latest? I would be able to get there for 7 pm at the earliest.

Mo2 · 26/02/2003 19:10

Great Bumblelion/MiriamW- the more the merrier!
What about a 7.30pm meet-up time? I'll give the pub a call and check whether we need to book...

Please don't feel shy anyone - we'll all feel the same.... we'll have to think of some sneaky way to identify ourselves to one another - like putting a copy of Gina Ford's CLBB on the table or something!!
Any more takers? And can the Carshaltonites sort their carshare etc?

This is so weird ... I am lurking on this thread 'cos I am nosy and find it so strange to see you all talking about places that are 'home' to me while I am on the other side of the world!! I might get my sister to go along and sit near you all to check you out ... no only kidding ... that would be too creepy!!
Have a great time everyone and have a drink for me!

Mo2 · 05/03/2003 19:23

SB34 - no, I haven't called yet, so if you get this message in time, could you book? Thanks

Ghosty - where are you? It must be a bit weird. Reminds me of the time when I used to live in Canada, i used to go into Marks & Spencer and pretend I was at home again (as well as buying lots of yummy food there)

eemie · 05/03/2003 20:33

Can I come too? I could be there by 7 or 7.30. Should the first one to mention GF buy all the drinks?

Angelmother I didn't get my driving licence (didn't even take my test) till I was 38.

Mo2 · 06/03/2003 17:18

Eemie - oh yes, yes, yes do come too - it's getting to be quite a gathering - how exciting!
SB34 - did you manage to book or not?

ANGELMOTHER · 06/03/2003 19:33

Thanks Eemie don't feel so bad now, always assumed everyone except me had it sorted by now. Anyway have test next week and feeling very positive.

On the other hand I'm afraid I have to back out of the get together as I have to return home (Ireland) the previous weekend, my Mum isn't well and I promised I'd be there, unfortunate as dd has just started pre-school and really loves it, so I hate to unsettle her so soon.
I will however have my first scan before I go so can't wait to see the little one

Keep posting though as I'll be watching to see how the meet-up goes and hopefully might make the next one.

Sorry to hear about your mother and that we won't see you - which preschool is your dd at - interested to see if she's where mine is?
Is next week still on? Should I book a table/is it booked/probably won't be busy? If so how many? Looking forward to it although it feels a bit odd ....
