Am interested in opinions. What is a Life Coach? Has anyone ever used one? Any bad/good experiences? Load of crap or worth it?
TIA

HI Ghosty - you obviously must be interested as you have kept this conversation going for some days. I am a life coach, and I was a Health Visitor for 18 years - I became a life coach as the nhs was increasingly limiting the work good health visitors could do with people, and I knew I had always managed to get people to shift greatly.
I love seeing people shift, and become so much more than they realised they could be. It is truly wonderful. check out my website www.makethatdifference.org - read the testimonials.
Over the years I have spent about 15K on my training - about 6 years worth, and that doesn't include the Health Visitor training. I have substantial experience and training - I do not charge the earth, as I do not believe I should. I, also, work with some people on very low budgets - at a loss to myself.

Coaching is different to counselling and other psychotherapies as it is not problem focussed - it works to assist individuals to find solutions, to look at options, to make better choices, to develop healthy habits of thinking, and to develop inspiring goals and to achieve them. Our brains need us to have goals as it gives our brains something to focus on and hence direction.
If you are interested there is a contact slip on my website - try coaching and make your own mind up.

Hi Ghosty - if you are still on mumsnet - I have just seen the date of your postings - - I do hope that in the meantime you have maybe experienced a life coach - if you wished. Wishing the very best.
