from pressing start to running thru a normal 40 degree wash with no extra rinse, no prewash just a wash, a rinse and a spin.

I bet you can;t beat mine

Mine is about 1 hour and 20 for a normal wash, I know it's a lot less for a delicates/wool wash, 40 mins I think

Looks like Bosches are the in brand round here!

My Bosch washer is 2 hours 2 min (30, 40 or 60 deg, packed full), or 2:12 if I go for extra rinse. It was the second cheapest model about 5 years ago and I'm so glad MrNC talked me into it as it has a timer so you can set it going when you're out/asleep and have washing ready to hang up when you return/wake up.

Dishwasher - 7 years old, also Bosch, around 2 hours for the 55 deg or the 50 deg eco setting. Annoyingly you can't stop a cycle before the drying bit (except the eco one which doesn't blow-dry). I fill the dishwasher with 2-3 times more stuff than anyone else I know, which cleans fine on 50 degrees, unless someone else has packed it as they always get something at the wrong angle!

1 hour 8 mins

have a 30c 'QUICK WASH' that takes 30mins
BUT you arnt supposed to put more than 1kg of clothes in that wash

a normal wash will take 5.5kg of clothes and it takes just over an hour

(at work it is 2hours and 2 mins and reduces to 1.28 if i press time saver (which i ALWAYS do)

that does 8kg
