birth was FAB
6 hours at home, with dp and doula who were magnificent
I stood up for most of it! loved it except when the gas and air ran out

at 2 days he was feeding poorly and didn't seem right, cue 2 nightmare days of tests and treatments in hospital before he started to pick up
we had to stay in a week for him to have IV antibiotics (just in case was meningitis or infection)
we are just about recovering from the upheaval

FrannyandZooey · 31/07/2008 20:45

ooh hello people
LL ds1 is 5 the picture of him beaming is when he came in in the morning to see us in bed and found his new brother what a lovely moment

FrannyandZooey · 31/07/2008 20:47

my stomach is still humungous
I don't think it will ever go back to anything resembling a normal stomach, ever

yes lots of people I know assumed I was not having any more I think
I was just not ready till now - it still felt like ds needed me very intensely until a year or so ago and I just wasn't ready to have a second needy person around

FrannyandZooey · 31/07/2008 20:52

congratulations !
Do you know what was wrong with him? We went through the same with dd and never found out what was wrong with her. It was horrible.

Bubble99 · 31/07/2008 20:53

Going from two to three is even easier.

A "slightly bigger than average" gap has worked out brilliantly for us as well. (almost 4 years between them).

p.s. Franny my stomach took longer to go back 2nd time round so it will happen soon enough.

FrannyandZooey · 31/07/2008 20:55

franca I strongly suspect it was just poor feeding but they could not rule out an infection
I was in there for a week and asked every day for breastfeeding help and never got it the bf co-ordinator finally rang me yesterday - 3 days after I had been discharged
