Evening wenches.

Thanks for the new thread Apricot. Love the title!

Poor Helen with the sinus headaches 😔. Hope the tiger balm helps.

<eyeroll> at Sainsburys moving stuff round. Just flipping stop it.

I was also concerned in the dream that I was being guided to a very muddy section of a car park and worried - correctly obviously - that I’d never get my car out of the mud once it was weighed down by a rhino, baby or not.

Cheers Wicked 🍸

LetUsPrey · 20/10/2026 06:35

Morning wenches.

Dark etc. Last few weeks I’ve been waking up for the bathroom between 5 and 5.30 which means zero chance of getting back to sleep before the alarm goes off. At least when it was about 3am I’d get back to sleep. I don’t know, never happy 😁

Hope Fancy’s illing is going away.

Have super days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 20/10/2026 17:06

Afternoon. Horrible day, rain, rain, rain.

Your dream is hilarious LetUs. Worrying about getting stuck in the mud because of the baby rhino. Grin I sometimes have to get up in the night and it's really annoying.

We're going to the caravan tomorrow to put it away for the winter. The weather looks pretty awful but it doesn't matter.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

Evening all. You'll be pleased to know I finished the last thread with FAF Halo
It's gloomy and raining here as well, though it was quite pleasant for most of the day.

There's been work, and a trip to the barber for DS. Not much excitement.

LetUsPrey · 20/10/2026 20:14

Evening wenches.

Finishing off in proper wench style Helen 😁

Dreams can be so bonkers! Hope weather’s not too bad for you tomorrow Apricot.

Rain and then rain and then it rained some more. I’m watching the gymnastics.

LetUsPrey · 21/10/2026 07:19

Morning wenches.

It’s Wednesday isn’t it? Yes, yes it is. No idea what the weather’s doing. Dentist after work, postponed from a few weeks ago because dentist had that lurgy that everyone’s had.

Must start getting organised for December.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/10/2026 07:52

Morning all.

IdiotKitty has been the Agent of Chaos this morning, and let a mouse go indoors - fortunately it was right next to a cardboard box, where the mouse took refuge, so it's been taken out and introduced to Mousetropolis.

Cool and clear skies outside. This morning was the first time I've thought I could do with gloves to pick up the cold metal shovel (cleaning out chickens). Brrr.

In other news, Spot is asleep on my lap (awww) so I won't be able to go to BoringOfficeJob today. Shame.

Hope everywench has a good day and TCFKAC continues to improve (but not bully Floof). Fingers crossed for the dentist trip LetUs. Was the gymnastics good? I didn't know it was on.

ApricotCrush · 21/10/2026 17:17

Afternoon. We’re here after a rather stressful journey. The car’s computer keeps putting messages on the dashboard and it has taken some of its power away as it thinks something is wrong when it isn’t. DH took it to the garage yesterday and they said all is fine. I don’t really understand it but anyway we got here. It rained all the way but the sun’s out now although it’s rather cold and windy.

Well done to Spot for saving Helen from work and hope the dentist went well for LetUs.

Evening wenches.

Weather is absolutely filthy here, and we’re nowhere near anywhere that’s going to get the worst of it.

Fingers crossed the car’s okay Apricot.

Hmm wonder if I could convince people at work I’ve got a cat without actually getting a cat. Not sure whether the excuse of snuggly cat on my lap would work though.

Men’s gymnastics final was excellent. So tense. Must admit I wasn’t as invested in the women’s as Team GB didn’t qualify for the finals so I’ve been for bath’n’book.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/10/2026 23:00

Evening wenches. Gloomy weather most of the day, and rain this afternoon/ evening, though the rain has blown over. I just looked at the rainfall radar forecast for the next few days. There's lots. Did I mention I'm away with DS at the weekend, being back-up driver for his first long distance/motorway trip? I think I'll spend Saturday holed up in my B&B with books and laptop. And maybe pack a snuggly blanket, and wellies!

Sympathies on the car Apricot - DH had one that went into 'limp mode' <phnar/nlt> when we were driving home from holiday once. It was ok once it got up to speed, but had virtually no engine power/acceleration, so we went a long route home that involved the most dual carriageway/fewest junctions. Annoyingly, when we got home he turned off the engine, then restarted it and it was fine, but we didn't dare stop on the way home in case it had a full on hissy fit, refused to start again and left us marooned 3 hours from home! Bloody misfiring electronics in cars. Sad

Hope that the dentist was uneventful for LetUs

LetUsPrey · 22/10/2026 06:22

Morning wenches.

Dentist went well. No issues so hurrah!

Your Saturday plan definitely sounds the way to go Helen.

Hope any wenches who are forecast the storm have everything tied down.

Have super days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 22/10/2026 16:40

Afternoon. Lovely day with sunny intervals and no wind. This often happens when everyone else has awful weather. We went a walk earlier and I even put my sarong on and sat in the sun. I think it’s the calm before the storm.

That’s exactly it with the car Helen. It’s gone into limp mode (😂) before but it always clears after about 10 miles but this time it didn’t until we were nearly here. DH tried it this morning and it was alright so fingers crossed.

Hope everyone’s had a good day.

Evening wenches.

Rather rainy today. Am 😮 at you being able to sit out in a sarong Apricot!

Bit of a sweary day at work. The main case management system we use is being updated so it’s being tested on a few people first. I really enjoy it when it actually makes things more difficult and less user friendly. Fucksake. Made my thoughts known.

Gymnastics on again, men’s individual all-around final. The high bar is seriously crackers.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/10/2026 23:15

Evening all. Apparently I didn't post this morning Hmm Oh well, no idea why - I got distracted.

Today has involved working and a supermarket shop, and, oh hallelujah - DS applying for a job. (After much nagging.) My fab neighbour tagged me in a job post on FB, and DH has actually applied for this one.

FFS at the new system Let/us Angry I bet that everyone's bad experience will be ignored and they'll just go ahead anyway. (Bitter experience.)

Weather has been ok here too, and just realised I didn't phone Dad - bit late now. Oops.

LetUsPrey · 23/10/2026 07:05

Morning wenches.

Good luck to MiniHelen on the job application. You’re probably right about the new system Helen 😠. I actually do that face quite a lot at work.

Flipping left eye is itching again. Third morning in a row. Fortunately I always have a large supply of antihistamines.

And on that thrilling note I shall get on with breakfast.

Have lovely days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 23/10/2026 16:23

Afternoon. Definitely the calm before the storm. Torrential rain for most of the day and awful wind. We were going to do our usual shop this morning but decided against. We’re going out for a meal later, hope it’s calmed down a bit by then.

Much sympathy to LetUs with the work situation.

Good luck to MiniHelen with the job application.

Evening all. Headless chicken day. DH took to his bed yesterday afternoon, so I've been spinning round in circles. Washing went out (because it hadn't rained) and immediately got an extra heavy rinse. So it got re-spun and came back in. DH bravely got up this afternoon and has been asking me lots of 'shall I do this?' questions while I try to work, without actually doing anything (though he has shut the chickens in). Now he wants me to check parking online because we're meant to be going out (he's drugged up in the hopes he'll feel ok). FMAL. He's busy playing/talking about a computer game that he and DS play now, which takes precedence over looking at parking himself. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Hope that LetUs eye has stopped itching and no wenches have been blown away Sad<anchors wenches down with HBFs>

Evening wenches.

Wenches the actual wind and rain all day. Proper howling at work and the walk to the car park was most unpleasant.

Hope the weather had calmed down in time for you to go out Apricot and you had a lovely evening.

Did MrHelen have to deploy the Dressing Gown of Doom? 🙄 The “can you look this up for me” really gets on my wick.

Eye calmed down. Work wasn’t too bad. DS2 has passed a grading at SportingActivity tonight and he’s all happy with himself - justifiably so 😊

LetUsPrey · 24/10/2026 07:46

Morning wenches.

Don’t think it’s raining right now. Gosh. Red skies though so that can’t be good. Pretty though.

Out this morning taking mother to a thing and then back home to tackle the mountain of washing that’s appeared since yesterday morning. The basket was almost empty. Why are there three hoodies of DS2’s? We may never know.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/10/2026 08:35

Morning all. Well done to mini-LetUs!

Still headless chickening here. DH is feeling better and headed out to SportingActivity, DS and I are off to foreign parts visit his girlfriend, except Spot has just landed on my lap, purring and kneading, so I'm not allowed to go anywhere.

Hope everywench has a good day!

ApricotCrush · 24/10/2026 17:43

Afternoon. Nice meal out and the weather was better. Terrible today, but we went into nearby-big-town this morning. It was a bit of an ordeal but I got loads of stuff, including some necessary bed linen, Christmas cards and some birthday cards for next year. But horror of horrors, Poundland was closed and it looked like they were clearing it out. I read that they were in trouble but that was a shock. 😩

Yes, I get the looking things up too. DH always asks me to check the weather app on golf days.

Hope Helen got to her destination safely in spite of the weather (and Spot) and MiniHelen has a nice weekend.

Well done to LetUsDS2. ⭐️

Evening wenches.

It rained a bit this morning when I was out and thankfully only got going with enthusiasm by the time I was back. It’s been rubbish. BigSis has no power, which means LovelyMIL doesn’t either. Thankfully she can go to SIL’s as it’s likely off until tomorrow night. Hope storm-affected wenches are okay.

Our Poundlands closed a little while ago but I thought that was more localised and because of not paying rent. It’s a shame if they’re all going.

Hope the visit went well Helen. Perhaps Spot wanted to go with you?

I hate waking up at 5 ot 5:30 for a wee as I can never get back to sleep

Evening/Middle-of-night

Arrived safely despite weather and have been bingeing on Netflix, since we don't have it at home. Really ought to be in bed by now...

Hope that MiL's power is back on by now LetUs
