I'm suggesting an open air open combat get together with Netmutmums, sparked by a thread about a perfectly good pushchair sold by a fine upstanding mn to a low and abbhorant nm. If this doesn't mean war, what does? Locations, costumes and rules welcome..

have you not seen the fights?

They come over here, we go over there, there is much bitching and swopping of insults and then it all dies down again.

Usually starts when we do a thread taking the piss out of tickers.

IAteRosemaryConleyForBreakfast · 24/06/2008 21:05

Was "netmutmums" a Freudian typo or is this a common term of endearment which has hitherto escaped my notice?

foxythesnowfox · 24/06/2008 21:06

ah, but those threads on tickers are priceless

TheArmadillo · 24/06/2008 21:07

and someone who uses both (or at least claims to) will have a good old flounce.

There will be loads shouting 'leave it, they ain't worf it'

It's great - can sometimes spin out to a week;s worth of entertainment.

Go on - start one.

bluewolf · 24/06/2008 21:12

whats a ticker?

OP posts:
CoteDAzur · 24/06/2008 21:16

It's those bright-colored, flashing little calendars at the end of each post that go:

2 years 3 months 1 week 3 days since I last had a meaningful thought

2 minutes 1 second since I last called a stranger 'hun'

That kind of thing

TheArmadillo · 24/06/2008 21:18

this is the classic ticker thread

taliac · 24/06/2008 21:19

tickers

Starting wars with other parenting sites is generally Frowned Upon in these ere parts.

bluewolf · 24/06/2008 21:25

I'm not exactly sure about this ticker thing. So if I say I DUN A WANK and use some brackets is that it?
taliac although I am proposing a war I am not actually starting one. but it would be cool

Now, I've never been on NetMums but on that lik it sounds like lots of people are very familiar with the format....

nkf · 24/06/2008 21:28

Oh, I love the tickers threads. Tbere hasn't been one for way too long.

SquiffyHock · 24/06/2008 21:29

areyouthereMNtismeMargaret · 24/06/2008 21:30

{{eggingon emoticon]]

davidtennantsmistress · 24/06/2008 21:31

but what I wanna know is more on this pushchair - why didn't a MN'etter have it? should we not let the 2 posters sort it out their selves thou?

nkf · 24/06/2008 21:32

This is my favourite one.
Thanks for the reminder they exist.

areyouthereMNtismeMargaret · 24/06/2008 21:59

I just asked them why they have tickers.

BigBadMouse · 24/06/2008 22:01

Oooohhh I'm not going over there - there is one scary woman who gets very territorial over the nappy topic!

IT IS SIX MINUTES 54 SECONDS SINCE I LAST KILLED A THREAD

QuintessentialShadows · 24/06/2008 22:01

They are parents just like us. They like their forum, as we like ours. They like tickers we dont. Why is this so hard to respect and accept?

3kids1cat · 24/06/2008 22:02

lol noooo, are they being all understanding about you being such a meanie!

BigBadMouse · 24/06/2008 22:02

In fact, some of them don't like tickers bacause it slows everything up.
