IMO newborns look a bit silly in proper clothes...

I do have some very cute floral babygros with frilly bits on the bum. Will that do?!

Baby gro. Boys look daft in frilly dresses anyway.

Elmosgirl · 17/06/2008 12:27

Yes definately, teeny tiny babies look ridiculous in proper clothes and she will be much comfier in a baby grow.

Yabbadabbadooo · 17/06/2008 12:27

baby grow will be fine. even without frills.

SlightlyMadSweet · 17/06/2008 12:27

Do whatever you want...

I deffo wouldn't do a dress as they do look v silly, and are very impractical.

A half way house could be a pair of nice dungarees.....

RibenaBerry · 17/06/2008 12:27

Yes. Definitely. Can't imagine anyone will judge a three week old for not adhering to the dress code!

I agree about small babies in 'outfits'.

RosaLuxembunting · 17/06/2008 12:28

Babygro. And bring a couple of spares. If you buy her a frilly dress it will be itchy or she will puke up on it before you even get to the wedding.

3littlefrogs · 17/06/2008 12:28

It is very important, in terms of wedding etiquette, NOT to outshine the bride.

The cute babygros sound fine. No point in buying expensive dresses that she will outgrow in 2 weeks (and get sick on).

RibenaBerry · 17/06/2008 12:30

More importantly, do YOU have any clothes that fit and are clean after just three weeks?

TheApprentice · 17/06/2008 12:31

Babygrow absolutely. A newborn looks cute enough just as s/he is!

MrsBadger · 17/06/2008 12:34

babygrow

but if you have a lacy heirloom babyblanket/ shawl thing, now is the time to use it

tassisssss · 17/06/2008 12:34

mumblechum - it's a girl!!

Ribena - i keep trying on the skirt I hope to rit into by next Friday. Think it's going to be OK. If not I'll be raiding someone else's wardrobe!

Glad you all agree with me!

MrsB - you're so right re the shawl...have just the thing!

Babygro. Newborns look silly in proper clothes.

I'd take a few though (poo leakages, sick etc).

Twiglett · 17/06/2008 12:36

babygro .. sounds lovely

JulesJules · 17/06/2008 12:36

White frilly dress with veil

compo · 17/06/2008 12:37

ooh Tassis congratulations! (remember me fom the sept 2006 thread?)

lizziemun · 17/06/2008 13:12

Babygrow fine.

dd2 is 9mths and still spends more time in a babygrow or one of these especialy if it hot.

tassisssss · 17/06/2008 19:53

Hi compo! Yes I remember you! You've reminded me to go and post our news on the Sept 2006 thread. See you there?!

Lol, I must be the only one that would dress mine up!!!!!

EffiePerine · 19/06/2008 13:49

babygro. Nothing so awful as small scrunched baby in frilly dress with matching hairband

belgo · 19/06/2008 13:51

definitely baby gro.

FromGirders · 19/06/2008 13:52

I had my babies in little nighties at that age [reminisces broodily]

anniebear · 19/06/2008 13:55

she wouldnt be a small scrunched baby in frilly dress with matching hairband though lol lol

she would just look lovely, dressed up but still comfty

Not that I have a 3 week baby

Dropdeadfred · 19/06/2008 13:57

I took my dd3 aged 3 months to a wedding. She had a beautiful frilly dress on .....for about an hour..then having got throughly fed of trying to breastfeed her whilst she was encased in frilly satin etc I changed her into her pj's (babygro)...ahhhh she was so much cooler and more comfortbale and easier to pass to people for a cuddle too!!

ConnorTraceptive · 19/06/2008 13:59

I saw a three week old in a suit at a funeral once - was quite possibley the most disturbing thing i've seen
