Hi, I'm looking for a female friend I used to work with. We met in Denmark, for family were in Nottingham - I would greatly miss her and would love to know how she is.........

What kind of helpfulness can we offer when all you are have specified so far is that it's someone female who has been to Denmark and has family in Nottingham. There must be 50000 or more people who meet that description. No one can help without more detail. No one will give you any information at all if they have any sense because you could be a creep, a stalker or someone genuinely dangerous, and we have no way of knowing if you are actually someone kind and decent who she will want to see again. If you can give enough detail that someone might actually recognise an individual, they might tell that person that you are looking for them and let them choose whether to contact you.

• what date did you meet her
• where in Denmark
• what did you do together
• what else do you know about her that could narrow down a specific individual from all the other women it might have been

You could also try joining a Nottingham local facebook group. Post a photo of yourself, and ask if anyone in the group has a relative who has recently been to Denmark and remembers meeting you there. If you aren't a creep or a stalker, you may be successful. If you are a creep or a stalker, you will be excoriated. If you are unlucky, someone in Nottingham who is a creep or a stalker will take the opportunity to fixate their attentions on you.

(the Susan references are because of a 1980s film https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desperately_Seeking_Susan - not because anyone actually thinks her name is Susan but because the very idea of trying to find her in the way you have started with this thread is very far-fetched fantasy)

They might have known a person who used to work in Denmark, the I would give more details - think of the personal data act - why would I say more of her instantly- that's something to go on. But instead I got a lot of sarcastic nonsense - sooooooo not helpful

Hi, thanks for commenting sensibly. I have not seen her for a looooooon time ( so am unable to give more info).
Am aware of the Madonna film - but didn't expect such pettiness. Am not a creep, would just like to meet her again, as we got on greatly.
Can see I'm not gonna get success this way, will try looking elsewhere.

Of course you aren't going to get success on the basis of the details in your first post.

@Doctorbird1 I’m sorry you feel the responses have been childish. It is worth hanging around for a bit to learn the culture of Mumsnet before you post. It was all meant as lighthearted fun. You put virtually no details in your first post so I don’t know how you expected anyone to be able to help.

You practically said “do you know a woman I met in a different country once?” and obviously the answer has to be no.

If you posted when, where, the place you worked, more of a description than “her family were in Nottingham” (a very big place!) you might find people a bit more helpful.

It’s totally on you, that you got unhelpful replies. And they were funny.

What's ridiculous is that there's every chance someone on this thread does know 'the female', they just thave no way of knowing if it's the woman in Nottingham that they know or not!
