Would you spend £200 on tiles if the bathroom suite only cost £300?

(and the bathroom suite includes taps).

Just seems a high proportion of the bathrrom cost IYSWIM.

Are they nice tiles?

Dragonbutter · 27/04/2008 11:06

I am genuinely interested in tiles. Sad I know. See my profile pics.

forkhandles · 27/04/2008 11:07

I would if they were going to cover all/most of the walls and looked really nice. Where are they from?

Carmenere · 27/04/2008 11:07

Yes.

TheSlightestTeuch · 27/04/2008 11:07

that wouldn't be how I would see it...it would depend on my budget and if I really likes the tiles .

That's like saying "I won't wear my lovely new expensive shoes because I got the top in primark".

Perhaps the tiles will make the bathroom "look" more expensive?

RubySlippers · 27/04/2008 11:07

yes

forkhandles · 27/04/2008 11:09

Wow Dragonbutter that mosaic is gorgeous, clever you! Where is it and what's it going to be?

frumpygrumpyhasnofaceon · 27/04/2008 11:09

Definitely. The suite isn't the imporant bit really. The tiles make it. Its like buying a tesco vest and adding a cashmere wrap.

serenity · 27/04/2008 11:09

Agree with TheSlightestTeuch

oxocube · 27/04/2008 11:12

Absolutely. 500 quid for a new bathroom is definitely a bargain!

ladytophamhatt · 27/04/2008 11:12

yes.

Dragon, WOW...that is amazing, really really lovely. I'm impressed you clever tiler you!!

Dragonbutter · 27/04/2008 11:13

I just finished it last night. It's a tsunami for an exhibition starting next month. It's the first time i've made anything for an exhibition so it's all a bit scary. I set myself the goal of getting one finished for the exhibition to fend off the PND that seems to creep up on me a year after childbirth. Seems to be working so far.

I would pay less for the suite just so i could spend more on tiles, if the budget allowed. (Rather craply our bathroom has cheapest white tiles and cheapest suite)

PeachesMcLean · 27/04/2008 11:14

Absolutely. In fact, i'd make a point of it. Bathroom suites are fairly standard, it's the tiles which really make it look good.

noddyholder · 27/04/2008 11:16

I am a tile freak too so definitely yes.they can make or break the look What are they like?

Psychomum5 · 27/04/2008 11:16

I would!!!

tis the tiles that make the bathroom IMO, and altho the suite is also important, a bath is a bath is a bath IYGWIM......no-one really looks at just the suite....the look at the whole thing and somehting that stands out (like tiles) is what grabs'em!

Dragonbutter · 27/04/2008 11:18

Tiles question? £200 isn't a lot to spend on tiles. Is it a small bathroom?

noddyholder · 27/04/2008 11:22

don't listen to me I change my mind every five minutes!

Dragonbutter · 27/04/2008 11:24
