just somewhere to natter about them!!

My Molly can go out from tomorrow......have been walking her round the house on the lead. Am very nervous about tomorrow......will either have to leave her in the house or take her with me when I take the kids to school.......I was going to take her when I get dd from nursery at 11.20 cos it will be quiet....am worried about taking her and her getting nervous......eek!!!

Titania our dog also arrived more or less housetrained (at 12 weeks) & we have used a crate from the start. We have had some adverse comments from family & visitors, despite being told by the breeder and our local dog trainer and the breed society to use one. People don't like to think of dogs in cages. I would recommend it though.

(Mind you the alternative to getting up to puddles in the morning is to be woken up at regular intervals throughout the night by a puppy that wants to go out- we had that for weeks)

CountessDracula · 05/01/2005 17:07

Yes I'll set up a site now so we can post them later.

oh i give up.....got up this morning to a trashed kitchen.......molly had chewed my chairs, ripped the seats, ripped the covers off and torn them to shreds.........as well as poo and wee everywhere........

That's it........I'm going to have to get a crate from somewhere.....

titina, it does get better - honest. just keep tellin them off if u catch them doing something bad, our two have now stopped chewin (18 months old) but they r left alone for long spells durin the day, when they're with us they're fine, give the pup lots of toys to play with. (ours have under the stairs as their area, and their food is in the kitchen cupboard so they have their two areas which they seem to like.

EpiffanyFeast · 06/01/2005 10:01

spray everything heavily with eucaplytus oil, they hate it. It also clears your nasal passages
someone told me that reprimanding the pup as its mum would have done by gently holding the back of the neck and saying NO very firmly while increasing the hold, not to hurting stage though
it was worked fab with our little lady, she now responds to NO instantly, including not eating the cats food!

Titania · 06/01/2005 13:54

will try that thanks.

CD thanks for that link......i have ordered one today......rang them and they had one that had been sent back cos it was the wrong size so I got it even cheaper!!! they said it will be with me tomorrow!!! hope so!!! she trashes the place whenever we arent around.......
