I am having my office party...

...any other freelancers care to join me?

I am sipping a glass of nice white wine, admittedly of slightly better quality than the average office bash. Later I may tell myself shyly that I've always found myself rather attractive, or alternatively try and give myself a quick kiss behind my desk (must remember to get filing cabinet for future festivities). If it all goes wrong I may need to totter into the loo for a quick sob.

Cheers!

Can I join you? I should be at mine NOW but daughter has decided to be ill today! Erm, can't drink though. A glass of Schloer (sp?) for me please.

I am standing on the boardroom table singing "I will survive" with my christmas earrings and simpsons socks on

DP has just sent me an email from his work, pointing out that we've shared the same office for four years and he's always found me very attractive

I wish I was self employed. I have just become the laughing stock of my office for wolf whistling a spreadsheet. It was a pretty sexy one though.

bundleofyulelogs · 16/12/2004 15:35

you daft mare, MI

(have you got party blowers? and streamers? )

MariNativityPlay · 16/12/2004 15:37

I expect she is slumped in her office doorway by now, covered in a light dusting of pretzels. Or has cornered herself by the mirror to show herself those flea-bites...are you all right down there, MI dear?

bundleofyulelogs · 16/12/2004 15:38

she could even be avoiding herself as the Last Dance moment approaches..and the lights get turned back up and you see who you're with...eeeek

motherinfestivemood · 16/12/2004 15:39

Actually the absolute best of an office party all to yourself is that you can play Loretta Lynn very loudly.

but shurely you have to have Wham's Last Christmas at the end....

motherinfestivemood · 16/12/2004 15:44

I thought I would have Lennon/Ono, actually, so that I can bore myself about how I was 17 the day John Lennon died, up for an interview at Oxford University in my blue Laura Ashley frock with a black velvet ribbon round my hair

bundleofyulelogs · 16/12/2004 15:44

a velvet ribbon???

MariNativityPlay · 16/12/2004 15:45

MI! Now I really am ed.

motherinfestivemood · 16/12/2004 15:54

See, told you that office parties are a source of terrible indiscretion. This is sadly totally true. I was an unspeakable nerd in my teens.

If you have, I hope you snogged yourself in the stationery cupboard...

motherinfestivemood · 16/12/2004 17:02

Well, I'm afraid I am going to lurch out into the night with myself. Please be tactful about this tomorrow.
