is this okay?

This is happening a few miles up river from us. We're far enough away from the river that it won't affect us, but I know plenty of people that it will affect. This was in a town on the same river last week.

Scary

Jennster · 07/08/2008 20:29

I'm glad I live at the top of a hill!

Hope you're OK Macdog.

Feeling any better Voodoo?

I love my dc, but my goodness I need my sleep too. DD was sleeping through by now. DS is waking at least once in the night and for good at around 6.30. Am considering controlled crying! He can sleep through I know that.

Macdog · 08/08/2008 09:10

We're ok, just worrying about people that I know.

It has stopped raining today

Macdog · 09/08/2008 02:26

Frickin' neighbour got huckled to the mental health unit.....AGAIN!!
So now I'm awake.

On the bright side, watching the eventing dressage....treat!

Jennster · 09/08/2008 23:11

I'm a piss head

worley · 10/08/2008 09:57

lol at piss head.
i went in lidl yesterday and they had all these flavoured vodkas there, such as peac and watermelon and bluberry liquors, but i didnt get any. i knew if i did i would be wrecked by the evening!!
someone in our town was arrested last week for being drunk in charge of children at 10am!! it made the local paper!they must have been in a state! i did have a little laugh to my self though, i bet if the police went round in the evenings they would find hundreds of people drunk in charge of children, esspess at a weekend bbqs etc!!

im on holiday for the weeknow, i had to call in work friday and say i wasnt coming in as ds1 had the worst d&v bug ever.poor boy was sick almost evey hour all night then woke up at 6.30 when my alram was going off and said poo, (as he tells us when hes filled his nappy now)so i sat up and it flooded out of his nappy all over him, the bed and me!!! gross. so i had to stand him in the bath while he is worrying about the mess and scrub us both down.

disgusting.
hes all better now though.

aw poor worley bub.

Well dc are meant to be both at nursery full time, but dd has a sore throat (I think) a temperature and snot. Her tonsils are quite large too.....I'm going to have to be a terrible mummy and send her in tomorrow morning. I have started back at work four days a week, with Mondays to myself. Bliss, except so far I still haven't managed to have it to myself yet. Tomorrow I have to be in for a conference phone call (?) first thing.

worley · 11/08/2008 10:09

ooo a whole day to yourself, im !!when im on a night duty i sometimes still drop ds2 off at nursery in the morning so i can do nothing all morning. not too often as it 10 miles to nursery (at my workplace) and i cant always be bother to drive all that way just for a few hours and have to go back again, and then back to work later.

ds1 woke up at 8.45 this morning, heaven as im normally up at 6.30 so it was lovely, going swimming today, i have collected lots of the free swimming session from the cereal boxes they should see us through all the summer holiday!!

OP posts:
worley · 11/08/2008 10:11

oooh, when we went to watch wall-i the other day guess who was in the cinema with us.... gordon brown, his wife children and nanny and 2 bodyguards. and it turns out they all went to the soutwold maize the same day as us but after our session, when it was mnore quiet!!
ds1 thinks he is stalking us. lol

OP posts:
Macdog · 11/08/2008 18:01

Can't take Gordon Brown seriously after Frankie Boyle said this on Mock the Week
(be warned - moderately offensive)

HOLIDAY BOOKED - HURRAH!!!!!!!

WhippyVoodoo · 12/08/2008 09:19

we did controlled crying with dd Jenn

hit first stumbling block with ds...he will NOT sleep in his moses basket, he will only sleep by me in bed. Im ok with it but dh worried to death he'll squash him etc. I slept with dd in our bed for 1st 6 weeks I am sure but jeez the little guy yelled for 19 minutes at top of his lungs when he was in moses basket last night, we cracked and hauled him back in with us. then he dropped straight off, wasnt even hungry!!!!

any ideas?? ive tried nipple pads in basket, etc to make it smell like me, no joy

I watched olympic dressage too!! beautiful horses indeed. reminded me of my attempts at dressage, har har

going for megapulse (!??) on my arse soon, and nipps much improved, just sore at latching on now, pain quickly goes.

gotta go, left dd watching tv told her I was going for a poo!! ds still asleep on our bed ( he is also nocturnal...)

WhippyVoodoo · 12/08/2008 09:21

gordon is a div

but that bloody darling is the stupidest..hinting he may change stamp duty but not till NOVEMBER!!! wtf!!! now nobody will think about buying a house as they may be able to save a few thou come november!!!

WhippyVoodoo · 12/08/2008 09:22

worked out weve had 4 viewings in 6 months.

i am off to phone est. agent and ask what is going on!!!

my mum has an offer on her house after 2 weeks, and 3 interested parties!! but it is in Onich, nr Fort William, gorgeous

worley · 12/08/2008 20:05

what is megablast?????
i watched the showjumpung 3 day eventing this afternoon, a local girl sharon hunt was in the team and they won bronze.

when is the other showjumping/dressage on?

its been torrentiol rain today so not done much at all. i bet itrs bloody hot and sunny next week, when im back at work again

ds2 had an aversion to his moses basket, now he is still in bed with me. he did start in his cot again for a few weeks then he had a sickness bug and ended up back with me, then back in his cot for a week or so and then the nose bleed thing started and he got so stressed out when he was in his cot he started having nose bleeds. so he is back with me again, its pk for dp as he doesnt cuddle up to him, oh no, he has to sleep in the crook of my arm, so i have to sleep constantly on my side with him resting in my arm, and he clings to me, and he get all sweaty!!
i have been eyeing up a toddlers cars bed which im thinking of getting him as he is obsessed with cars. just to try to get him in a bed as im sure its the fact he is penned in which is what he doesnt like anymore.

oh well...

Jennster · 12/08/2008 21:13

Something like TENS?

Macdog · 13/08/2008 08:28

Megablast is pulse electro magnetic thingy. helps take down swelling in tissues. I've had it for various injuries, pretty good results.
Good Luck Voods

Kids back at school today.....peace and quiet again!

Jennster · 14/08/2008 19:59

Already! That's Scotland I suppose. I'm on my own tonight. Dh is watching York City at a mate's house.

Night 3 of cc went better than I expected. Problem is dd is now waking in the night very upset when she hears ds, and sometimes not....I am destined not to sleep well.

Macdog · 14/08/2008 22:33
worley · 15/08/2008 12:26

sympathies to, we had the problem of ds1 getting upset when i left ds2 to cry, he kept going in and talking to him which made it worse

now off out to get supplies of goodies for the weekend!

dp goes to the lake districr for the week on monday, so im doing the night duty (5pm till 7am) mon wed, fri, and sun to cover ds1 so im here during the day and they are sleeping at my parents at the night. im going to be shattered by the end of the week, just one a m onth normally does me in let alone 4 in a row.
