MightySquonk · 17/01/2008 10:32

I'll convert you yet, tnog.

MightySquonk · 17/01/2008 10:32

Sven... please liven things up a bit. We were bored stiff last night

Tnog · 17/01/2008 10:37

Big membership you have, Squink

Scarf is quite 'postmodern', I may actually wear it this afternoon to class - give the students a bit of a laugh.

MightySquonk · 17/01/2008 10:47

twas in response to another thread. I don't just go around randomly starting threads for you to laugh at you know

You should change your name to, HighAndMightySquonk.

< uncrosses fingers and leaves thread as the hoards of supporters jostle me out of the way..>

shabster · 17/01/2008 11:12

Mightysquonk - ignore them all!! Being a City fan makes you strong, resiliant and used to dissapointment - however we do have our moments in the sun - and Micah Richards is very very easy on the eye - god i went all girly then x

MightySquonk · 17/01/2008 11:13

yaaay shabster

see, tnog, I have friends ner ner na ner nerrrrr

Every time I see Micah Richards, I remember his first ever interview

OP posts:
shabster · 17/01/2008 11:16

oh yes i remember the ffflippin one! Every time he gets near goal I shout 'shoot' just in the hope he will score and take his shirt off - think that may be an illegal thought cause im 51 and he's a baby!! what the hell

shabster · 17/01/2008 11:22

Just going to tidy my sons room and ogle at his Richards poster - the room is a tip i may be some time - will be out for the next game - Im forever blowing bubbles huh!

MightySquonk · 17/01/2008 11:22

Lucycat · 17/01/2008 17:27

ooh Hellooo! This is a friendly place isn't it?

Resident of the Colin bell stand here!

full of classy, intelligent folks - might even be called a 'cleek'

shabster · 17/01/2008 17:46

hello lucycat - you just made me smile. My favorite player from the Colin Bell era was Franny Lee - only cause we share the same height and build. Think you might guess I quite like Micah Richards. welcome to the gang xx

MightySquonk · 18/01/2008 11:53

lucycat, I knew you'd be along sooner or later

I remember watching Colin Bell play with my dad. Dad had tears in his eyes and told me to watch carefully as I would never see a better player than Colin.

OP posts:
shabster · 18/01/2008 12:01

Mightysquonk is your dad a famous footballer? OR did he go to school with Colin Bell? Tell me more - I'm so nosey.

TheMaskedPoster · 18/01/2008 12:03

oh squonk ... I so used to like you

MightySquonk · 18/01/2008 12:07

sorry, shabster. Just re-read what I posted.

should have said: "I remember my dad and I watching Colin Bell play"

dad was with me, not the great man.

TMP - commiserations, we didn't deserve to win the other night. Mind you, neither did your team they were equally as bad as each other

Have to admit, I felt mightiliy sorry for all those Londoners who travelled all the way up to Manchester to watch that pile of crap that they tried to pass off as a football match.

And aren't we playing again at weekend? Wonder if any of them will try to liven it up a bit

MightySquonk · 18/01/2008 12:11

May the best team win, eh?

I used to live on Main Road, y' know (dreams of far-off days hearing the crowd singing blue moon). I now sadly live too far away but by ds does take the mickey when I ask him how Man City have done.

TheMaskedPoster · 18/01/2008 12:14
shabster · 18/01/2008 12:14

You had me going there Squonk - have no idea of your age so couldnt make a guess. Did think of your name on mumsnet - begins with Mighty - thought Mighty Quinn - then thought sure he is quite young. Oh well it kept my mind ticking over for a while. Yes we play West Ham on Sunday - i really have a strong dislike for Bowyer. xx

MightySquonk · 18/01/2008 12:44

ooh, dramaqueen, my gran & grandad used to live a couple of roads away from Maine Road Used to go to visit them on a Saturday morning, see the match in the afternoon, have corned beef butties at their house for tea and then head home after all the traffic had gone

Am not mighty for that reason, shabster. Just because it came up on a different thread about a group called Mighty Squonk (I'm normally just squonk) so I namechanged for a few days and it's stuck so far.

Not sure I like being so mighty though, I may change to "QuiteNiceSquonkInSmallDoses"

Although I was watching city when Niall Quinn played for them (and a few years before and after) but I live in Yorkshire now so don't get to the games very often (if at all)
