Ok, outskirts of Brighton and Hove. 3 beds (very small) with reasonable garden, £850 a month.

GetOrfMoiLand · 16/01/2008 20:05

Currently in rented house because our house was destroyed in the summer floods.

Cheltenham, £780 per month for a 3 bed semi, small garden.

StripeyMamaSpanx · 16/01/2008 20:06

Urban West Midlands, two beds, big garden with plum trees, £400 a month.

But no central heating, no double glazing, walk straight in off the street, and no parking (on or off street).

StripeyMamaSpanx · 16/01/2008 20:06

Oh and no bath either.

Twinklemegan · 16/01/2008 20:06

Yes well, it's all those londoners comin' 'ere with their big money you know, pushing up the house prices for us poor locals.

EmMcK · 16/01/2008 20:20

Gulp - London, one bed, no garden, fourth floor walk up, no parking. £910 pcm, and we think we have a good deal as are in a great area. Realise it is obscene, we're thinking of moving back to New Zealand!!!

NickiSue · 16/01/2008 20:24

Im in Thirsk, North Yorkshire and am in a very small 2 bed terrace house, no parking, tiny garden with shared walkway and pay £495 - I am moving next month 2 streets away into a three bed, spacious downstairs, with a 100ft garden which has been recently renovated and has dedicated parking to the rear.... £500.
Go figure!

kindersurprise · 16/01/2008 20:25

God, am I glad that we do not live in London.

North London - have rented in N1 and NW5 in the last couple of years. 3 bed flat or house just under £500 pw.

I'd stay where you are!

littlelamb · 16/01/2008 22:33

Exeter, 3 bed first floor flat with no garden, £600. In this city, that is cheap. Am seriously considering moving back to Cambridgeshire where I could halve my rent overnight!

sparklygothkat · 16/01/2008 22:33

I don't private rent (am HA) but BIL does and he pays £600 a month for a 1 bed flat!!! Am in herts

JingleyJen · 16/01/2008 22:34

Little lamb my link is for cambridge - depends where you want to be but prices are high atm!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/01/2008 22:35

FARK!!!!

Rent for 3 beds and garden around here is about £1200!

littlelamb · 16/01/2008 22:37

I used to live in a town closer to Peterborough really. Had a flat much like this one for £325 a month. Am torn though, because I much prefer the lifestyle down here and there is much more for my dd, so in terms of that I think that maybe the extra cost of living is (maybe) justified.
