I was walking back with my DD from nursery and this woman passed me on a bicycle, and I glanced at her as she went past.

She looked at me and shouted - what you looking at? So I carried on ignoring her and she said - yes you fatty!

SO HUMILIATED! I am not even that fat! Size 14/16. Must diet more

She must have more manners, never mind the diet!!!

Caligula · 24/11/2004 17:27

Charming. Is this an example of Bike Rage?

winnie1 · 24/11/2004 17:28

Jennisaurus, what a stupid, horrible woman. You are not fat and even if you were her opinion does not count.

Sympathise greatly as I am fat (size 18-20) and recently a group of 9-10 year old boys were incredibly rude to me.

Why does anyone think they have a right to be so rude?

aloha · 24/11/2004 17:31

Vile woman. I hope she does this regularly and will therefore get run over by a truck quite soon.

libb · 24/11/2004 17:34

Take no notice - she obviously has issues (about??) and chose to take them out on you. The silly cow. I would love to be a size 14/16 so I dread to think about what she would make of me.

For what it is worth I was called a effing c**t for not giving a guy some money at the bus stop the other day, I had to a catch a bus but I spent the whole journey home imagining what I could've done with his dangly bits if I hadn't.

There are some ignorant rude people out there.

nasa · 24/11/2004 17:38

jesus - how rude. Silly old cow - what goes around comes around though - she'll get hers.

mishmish · 24/11/2004 17:41

and why do they all come out at this time of year? Jenni I think you should have an obscene amount of CHOCOLATE this evening x

nasa · 24/11/2004 17:42

shame you didn't run after her and put a stick in her spokes

Freckle · 24/11/2004 17:44

Next time yell "Well, I can lose weight. What are you going to do about your face??"

How rude and, tbh, bizarre.

nikcola · 24/11/2004 17:47

what a cheeky rude cow, lets hope she falls off that bike very soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!

hester · 24/11/2004 17:53

Let's start a mumsnet posse, hunt her down and force her to eat cheesy mint balls.

Jenni, if it's any consolation my experience is people like that are always projecting their own stuff - like when pretty teenage girls get called 'Dog' in the street by acne-coated youths....

SantaFio2 · 24/11/2004 17:55

poor you - but then again you've done a valuable service in helping her express her inner rage at the machinations of a cruel and unloving world......

now you need to help those poor starving chocolate manufacturers

Kayleigh · 24/11/2004 18:47

some people are just so vile.

If there is any justice in the world she went round the corner and fell off her bike.

littlemissbossy · 24/11/2004 18:48

What a bitch!!
you should have said "well at least I'm not ugly like you"

noddy5 · 24/11/2004 18:54

that is so mean and rude you sound like an average size to me the world's gone mad!

ernest · 24/11/2004 19:51

reminds me of the dare I say - pikey kids when I was growing up. I spent most of my youth terrified of hearing somone shout abuse down the street (usually wasn't me Thank God) but they were always yelling abuse at someone. but this was a grown woman? What is society coming to?

champs · 25/11/2004 00:21

hi jenni!! so sorry this happened, unfortunetley i have hears this and alot worse!! People are sooooo rude. One of these days i am going to answer back, but i cant be bothered most times. Please dont let it get to you, stupid woman (her, not you) Love to you and your fam xxx

Chandra · 25/11/2004 00:27

I'm 14/16 and I'm not fat. That woman need glasses and a new brain!

Carla · 25/11/2004 00:49

I am so shocked!! Sorry for you, JS. I'm sure you're not at all. I was a size 16 in my teens and now a size 10 at 39, so know how horrible those comments are. Reserve your retaliation - she was a common cow and isn't entitled to any reply from you.

fostermum · 25/11/2004 01:38

i went to get petrol before my heart op and i was trying to rush which made me very short of breath as i couldnt do much with out getting out of breath ,and the man at the paying desk looked at me puffing away and said "a diet thats what you need my girl" if i hadnt been trying to regulate my breath i would of stuck my tounge out at him lol bloody cheek

nightowl · 25/11/2004 03:04

stupid woman! i once was followed around a bar by a man all night. after being polite and telling him i had a boyfriend, after several hours of him slobbering all over me and being a complete pain (and quite creepy too) i got so fed up with him i told him to eff off (not me at all). when i went outside later to get a cab he came past in a minibus and shouted very loudly "you effing slag". i got some very strange looks from everyone also waiting! nice people eh?

Cam · 25/11/2004 11:26

I have found the answer to people being aggressive in the street is to point at them and laugh (loudly). They don't know what to do and usually run (or cycle in your woman's case) off pretty quickly. I certainly wouldn't waste my time feeling hurt by the insane and rude comments of an ignorant stranger.
