I was taken, along with my best mate, by her boss and his wife.
It was 90 quid a head, without the wine, we took our own, he's a wine buyer so we drank a bottle of vintage champagne and vintage white & red, SO scrummy, but it was all about the food.
I would go back, not for a while, give him a chance to think of new things for his tasting menu. Anyone can take their own wine to an restuarant btw you just have to pay corkage, might keep the price down if you're thinking about going.
I can't wait to tak emy stepfather there, he'd really appreciae it.
You totally taste and appreciate everything. Like the grated liquorice on the salmon, it just worked so well, with tiny seeds of pink grapefruit.
Oh and the foie gras with chamomile, just beautiful, so delicate, and the tiny cubes, the size of your finger nail of ameraetto jelly.
The white chocolate with caviar, amazing, it just worked.
Oh the mustard icecream with red cabbage gazpacho, YUM!
Presented beutifully, we sat down at 8.30 and left the table at 12.30, tiny bits of food delivered to us throughout the evening by really nice french waiters with their sexy accents and it was such a nice venue, like being in someone's front room, ot stuffy or anything like that. What I'm saying here is that was an amazing night, a real experience, not just a meal out, it was a culinery delight, great fun, exciting, and

Had never heard of this restaurant until this thread and then there was an article about it in yesterday's Indie. Coincidence.

Where's Bray? The only one I know is in Ireland

Easy · 14/11/2004 18:20

I read about this place in the times last year.

I'm a bit of a foodie, and love smart restaurants, but I'm afraid my thought when I read the Times piece was 'that's just tooooo wierd for me', esp. at thoses prices. I think you just confirmed it for me.

I'm desperate however to have an evening at 'Le Manoir de Quatre Saisons'. I don't suppose anyone has any discount vouchers? and a spare bed to have ds overnight?

Easy · 14/11/2004 18:22

Tinker,
Bray is just down the Thames from Maidenhead.

I like the Waterside there, haven't been for years tho' (no discount vouchers there either )
