When does your dh/dp get home from work?

On average I mean. My dh averages about 7.30 or 8.00, but on some days it is much later (Fridays are 10.00). This is not because he finishes work, but because he goes on to do something else after work, which is really important to him (don't want to go into details, but I don't dispute his need to do this). However, when I feel hard done by(!), he claims that this is early, and that I'm lucky he helps when he does get home. SO - survey!

he leaves at 8.00 am, back before 5.15pm, at home all day every Friday - we're very lucky. Cash poor but time rich as they say...

Works abroad mostly, off to work at 3pm on a sunday, back 10pm on a friday night.

If he's contracted in the UK - he works about an hour away so can usually be home by 6:30.

But there can be weeks where his courses are cancelled, and then he's at home all day, but there's always paperwork, invoicing, VAT returns etc to be doing when he is at home.

Still - he's done this since he went self emplyed 10 years ago. It's not a bad life really.

On a day shift leaves 7am back 4.20pm on a late shift leaves 3pm back midnight. Alternate weeks and sometimes dayshift on a Saturday. Works well as sees DS alot during waking hours. Before DS when I was working full time we use to pass in the night every other week - notes left every where

Different every day.

For example today he started at 6:25am and finishes at 4:19pm. So will be home before 5pm

Sometimes he doesn't start until 4:44pm then finishes at way passed midnight. Other times he starts at 4:19am, which is his earlist start, and is home by 1pm.

His latest finish is 1:42am.

I'm positive that my DH's work pattern is no use to you toirtoise but I've joined in all the same

He's usually in by 6.15 and then really hands on with dd's bathtime. No complaints at Welshmum towers

marialuisa · 12/11/2004 10:44

Usually the same time as me, 4.45 (we both work at the same place). He does work at home after DD has gone to bed most nights though.

Lonelymum · 12/11/2004 10:49

If he gets home at all (too many nights away for my liking), about 7 pm, or 8pm if he is travelling a long way (his workplace differs most days). I wish it were 5:30 or 6 - that is what I consider normal, but it is better he comes home late than not at all!

paolosgirl · 12/11/2004 10:53

Leaves about 8am, so helps getting the kids ready for school, and is back for about 6.30/7pm to get them bathed and bed. No complaints here - unless of course I'm not talking to him for some reason!

DH "needs" to go out to the pub at least once a week for his mental health and is usually in by 12.30. He goes away for the w/e once a month.

Why does mumsnet always make me grateful for DH. I can't rant when I get such a good deal compared to so many on here!
