1 "Spice in 'em"
2 "Dolls in thongs"
3 "Cross held jurist"
4 "To wed tru'st love"
5 "A lethally new jig"
6 "He's fat, smart & rich"
7 "Cold now? Engage skis!"
8 "Means abhorrent music"
9 "The giant consumerism father"
10 "Northern seer, do help dude ride!"

There are all Christmas themed. I don't actually have the answers, the Pre-School dad who put them together for me hasn't seen fit to furnish me with these (ha bloody ha, not!). I hate anagrams but some people like them apparently

will come back to this later.

Anagrams give them something to do when they should be chatting to each other

Mercy · 04/12/2007 16:18

I have to go out now but

  1. Mince Pies

The others need thinking about!

Mercy · 04/12/2007 16:19

  1. Father Christmas
MaeWestYeMerryGentlemen · 04/12/2007 16:20

MaeWestYeMerryGentlemen · 04/12/2007 16:25
  1. Two turtle doves
gigglewitchyouamerryxmas · 04/12/2007 16:31

handlemecarefully · 04/12/2007 17:50

yes dolls in thongs is a bit inspired

snorkle · 04/12/2007 18:15

hmc isn't it a bit risky posting the questions and especially the answers to your pub quiz on the internet in advance? How do you know the pub won't be full of mumsnet lurkers when it happens?

Mercy · 04/12/2007 20:12

I cannot do these! The dolls in thongs is driving me mad - may have to ask my mum who is a crossword nut.

handlemecarefully · 04/12/2007 20:32

Well if they are so be it!

That's their good fortune

...and it's on a public forum open to all...

It would only be wrong if I told some of the known quiz goers where I posted it, yes? (this has the hallmarks of one of those modern ethics questions in the Times 2 supplement)

OP posts:
MaeWestYeMerryGentlemen · 04/12/2007 20:47

Well 3 "Cross held jurist" is an anagram of Lord Jesus Christ, don't know if there's anything else in there...

gigglewitchyouamerryxmas · 04/12/2007 20:47

lol (again)
would it be wrong to tell us what pub and when the quiz is tho
give me 3 days notice to get there on the train

then will still only get two right

handlemecarefully · 04/12/2007 20:49

Actually now I am feeling a bit worried

OP posts:
anorak · 04/12/2007 20:51

I was always partial to "mice penis" "yellow gu" and "stoat kurrey" on Christmas day.

handlemecarefully · 04/12/2007 20:53

Ok that would be something to do with mince pies and turkey (last ones). Gawd I can't abide anagrams

OP posts:
gigglewitchyouamerryxmas · 04/12/2007 20:59

elf land are chumley

why do you hate managras?

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 04/12/2007 21:17

Means Abhorrent Music has the word Christmas in it but I can't get anything from what's left.

And yet I feel 'Cliff Richard' must fit in there somehow.

MrsJohnCuSackFullOfPresents · 04/12/2007 21:28

Means Abhorrent Music is Christmas Number One

MrsJohnCuSackFullOfPresents · 04/12/2007 21:29

oh but with an extra A
that must be a mistake?

make it Mens Abhorrent Music,
and we're back to Cliff Richard

MaeWestYeMerryGentlemen · 04/12/2007 21:30

maybe it's A Christmas Number One then...

tortoiseSHELL · 04/12/2007 21:32
