Mourning my 20's :(

Only 6 days to go and I will officially be in my 30's. I have a few things lined up but to be honest do not feel like celebrating. Why do I feel so sad about not being in my 20's anymore?

Take my word for it, 30s are far better than 20s. I would not go back to my 20s for anything. Mind you next year I will be 36 and that seems awfully close to 40....

WigWamBam · 16/10/2004 19:41

I loved my 30s, it was much more fun than my 20s. And as I'm now in my 40s I am green with envy that you are in your 30s (nearly!) and I'm not! You won't feel any different anyway so celebrate like mad and have a wonderful birthday!

blossomhill · 16/10/2004 19:51

Ahh thanks. It's just the past 7 years since my ds was born have gone so fast. I even feel sad that he will be 7 in Jan.
I know I am a sentimental fool

40's are actually not too bad I would say..

something to look forward to blosomhill

(tho I really did enjoy my student 20's)

WideWebWitch · 16/10/2004 19:53

I love my thirties too, am 37 so nearly out of them, am envious that you're in your VERY EARLY thirties blossomhill!

blossomhill · 16/10/2004 19:56

Spent all of my 20's (well most) looking after 2 small children so should now look forward to my 30's. Obviously I am still a mum but things are so much easier now they are 5 and almost 7!

I have loved my 30s. I had a great time in my 20s too and wouldn't change them for the world, but my 30s are brilliant. I am going to be 40 at christmas though and am dreading it. I went to buy some 30+ face cream out of the Avon book and darling dh said don't buy too big a tube of that as you will soon be on the 40+ page

codswallop · 16/10/2004 19:57

hahahahaha
mad cackle

Cadbury · 16/10/2004 20:03

Blossom Hill, is your birthday the 23rd? I turn 31 on that day. Actually, I've decided to go backwards in age now and lurk at around 27 for as long as my friends will let me!

gothicmama · 16/10/2004 20:04

the 30's are fab I have enjoyed finally being me

WideWebWitch · 16/10/2004 20:05

My birthday is the 23rd too but I will be 38

fisil · 16/10/2004 20:05

I was so excited about turning 30 earlier this year. I thought maybe I might turn into a grown up! 30 is great, glad you're coming to join me!

WigWamBam · 16/10/2004 20:14

Goldfish, did you hit him? Remind him that he passed his prime at the age of 17 while you are just at your peak

Goldfish · 16/10/2004 20:31

Actually he was 45 yesterday so he is a fine one to talk. I think he is having his mid life crisis and is jealous I am still in my 30s. Hee hee.

WigWamBam · 16/10/2004 20:33

goldfish!

blossomhill · 16/10/2004 21:47

How old are you codswallop???

OP posts:
Skara · 16/10/2004 21:51

Blossomhill, that's funny you should write that cause I was just thinking about it. I hadn't ever thought I had an issue with age, till i turned 30 last year and went into a state of crisis. I still feel peculiar about it actually, like I haven't achieved anything and I'm going to be old before I know it. Cheerful, aren't I?

I'm only 4 days after you Blossomhill...and i feel exactly the same!! Its great being able to say you're only in your 20's....30 seems so grown up...

blossomhill · 16/10/2004 21:53

Skara - When ds was born I was 23. 30 felt like ages away. Now here I am hitting 30 and all I can think of is that's it things just go downhill from here. So know exactly how you fell
