started this new thread as the old one was about sensitive matters.
relieved that many other feel that this site has become 'restricted'.
many subjects discussed have been close to home for me, however i have tried to offer advice rather than condem someone for discussing it and raking up my feelings.
hope things start to get better otherwise, will have to revert back to watching rubbish on telly.

Toothache - DO IT!!!

Will you back part-time or full? Oh, I'm so out of the habit of going to work I don't think I could ever do it again!!

Mind you, will be so poor when we move in the new year, I might have to but it would be an evening M&S type of job - only if I REALLY have to!

JoolsToo · 10/10/2004 22:03

tb - all us MNers will surround your dp with circle of luuuurrrrrrrvvvvveeeee!

Toothache · 10/10/2004 22:03

Joolstoo - ... get full pay that way... . Where's the [nudge nudge] smiley when you need it!?

tammybear · 10/10/2004 22:03

lol jooltoo, i bet he'd love that

Skate · 10/10/2004 22:04

Tammybear - flippin eck! You'll be fine - take one thing at a time and you'll be there before you know it! Bet you can't wait to get settled.

libb · 10/10/2004 22:04

Do you think my clinging to the doorstep will make a difference? to add insult to injury I have only expressed 3ozs today, me bosooms have decided to pack up . . . . DS hates formula, fussy little monkey!

Toothache · 10/10/2004 22:05

Skate: Hopefully part-time, but they are a shower of wankers at my work! Could that be the correct collective noun for a group of wankers?

tammybear · 10/10/2004 22:05

yeah i cant wait skate, thats why im thinking of starting sorting things out now so its not all one mad rush. definetly going to need mumsnet to rely on. ull probably see me rant after rant after rant lol

EvesMama · 10/10/2004 22:06

skate, i didnt go back to work after dd born, so am lucky in some ways, but not in others, it takes ages for you to feel like a person again doesnt it..not just a mum..mind you..youve got more experience than me...ill be hunting you down for advice methinks!!

OP posts:
JoolsToo · 10/10/2004 22:06

I prefer a 'squirt of wankers' and ditto for my place of 'work'

libb · 10/10/2004 22:07

shower sounds about right . . . my colleagues have been lovely and sending me e-mails cheering me back to work, and I am apparently buying the lunchtime drinks to celebrate my return - how wonderful.

EvesMama · 10/10/2004 22:07

or a shower of shite as we say in the north east!!!

libb · 10/10/2004 22:10

Oh HD! that is really really sweet . I had a little weep this afternoon when DS went out to a party with DP - he cried when I cuddled him a little too hard on his return (not because I hurt him I hasten to add - just freaked out by the mad teary harpy lunging at him I think!)

Skate · 10/10/2004 22:12

TB - good plan, sounds like we are kindred spirits! I'm moving house in Jan and already have changed my address with Child Benefit - do you think I might be excited?

Evesmama - no, I didn't go back to work either. Actually I did, for about 2 weeks after ds1 before deciding I couldn't do it - it wasn't the sort of job I could do part-time. Well, I could have, on paper, done Mon-Wed but if there'd be meetings on Thur or Fri I'd have been flying down to London etc and I just didn't want that stress. Luckily I can work from home freelancing for my old company. It's bloody hard - like today I've worked all day practically and that's the weekend gone - back on the SAHM treadmill tomorrow!! I love it though and I know I'm extremely lucky to have that choice.

Wonder what time I'll get to bed tonight??

EvesMama · 10/10/2004 22:12

aw libb, i really feel for you...i feel like that just when i go for driving lesson, but think of his little face when you come home tomorrow and how exited hell be to see you and spend time with you. will be thinking of you, hope it flies by....can we get a hug icon please?

OP posts:
Skate · 10/10/2004 22:13

Evesmamma - hey, tonight you've gone from thinking your 'face doesn't fit' to opening your own bar and everyone joined!!!!

JoolsToo · 10/10/2004 22:13

As the the drink seems to have disappeared so must I - but back later as dh has put a mix in the breadmaker which needs taking out at 12.30!! thanks darling!

EvesMama · 10/10/2004 22:14

OP posts:
hewlettsdaughter · 10/10/2004 22:14

Ah bless . Hope it all goes well. I have always found the anticipation is worse than reality with these things. That isn't stopping me from worrying about when dd goes to her childminder though!

libb · 10/10/2004 22:15

12.30?! That was nice of DH ...

The Match is over - thank goodness!
