Thats it really. I know there are a few pressie threads at the mo but i am a bit stuck.

Dd1 will be 7 on 11/11 and Dd2 will be 5 on 12/12 and obviously xmas is shortly after.
They are having a bike each as their main birthday pressie and have thought of stuff that they would liike for xmas but i am painfully aware that the small fortune i spent last year is now lying in the bottom of a toy box hardly ever played with.

So just wondered what you are getting really.

LOL I asked a similar question the other day hoping for some inspiration. What do they want? Im thinking of 30 quid on some plastic tat they see advertised on tv and cant live without and some more cash spent on a game each and some arty, will get used stuff.
Plus much crap from relatives!

pepsi · 06/10/2004 21:16

My neice age 7 wants roller skates and the 5 year old wants one of the fold up scooters.

Aero · 06/10/2004 21:17

Mine are 6 & 4 Nutty and I have the same problem! Don't you just hate it when things aren't used?!
Ds1 is after a micro scooter so that's easy enough and not too expensive and I klnow he'll use it. Dd wants anything to do with make-up. Am thinking of getting her something like Girl's World - probably a cheaper version though and she can mess it up as much as she likes. After that, I really don't know. They are into Harry Potter and I've bought some of the audio tapes on Ebay. Am keeping the latest one for Xmas. Getting something for ds2 is more taxing as he has loads of toys from when the other two were little!!
I'm trying to be organised this year and we've been saving a bit so hopefully it won't be such a financial worry at the time!

charliecatthenonsmoker · 06/10/2004 21:18

The craxe in my house just now is Top Trumps you can get them for 2.99 in the shops and they have Bratz ones on Ebay for £4ish as a stocking filler suggestion.

poppyseed · 06/10/2004 21:19

DD is 5 and she has asked for some dressing up stuff. Easy me thinks although she is a big 5 (the size of an 8 year old really) and where do I get a Belle costume for that age?? Hope someone may beable to help?
Smelt a hijack just then, sorry

Aero · 06/10/2004 21:21

Ooooooooh - good idea CCTNS! Ds1 loves those! Is also into football in a big way (unfortunately). A fairly costly business.

Aero · 06/10/2004 21:23

The disney store, M&S, Woolies all do them - not sure of what size they go up to though. My dd also wears clothes at least age 5 or 6 and she's only just 4.

charliecatthenonsmoker · 06/10/2004 21:23

this any use poppyseed? Probably not but worth a try!

nutcracker · 06/10/2004 21:27

O.k i have to confess that i haven't a clue what Top Trumps are

Skates are on both their lists so i think i will get those. They both have a fold up scooter already so no need for those.

Poppyseed - I think the Disney shop itself may go up to that age, but they aren't cheap.

Aero - Dd1 has a barbie styling head (like girls world) and she uses it loads.

CCTNS - Is the plastic tat the Ello kits by any chance ???? Dd1 keeps on about them but i haven't a clue what they are or if they are any good.

Top Trumps is a card game - they were around when I was little. Anyone can play as soon as they can read and easy even for us parents to understand - honest!! They come in a huge variety of themes - eg Marvel comic characters, sharks, dinosaurs, bratz, etc, etc - you name it, there's a TT game for it.

charliecatthenonsmoker · 06/10/2004 21:33

Heres Ello, plastic tat that will get sucked up the hoover right away. here and here is Top Trumps

nutcracker · 06/10/2004 21:34

Oh right i see, i think i have seen them around. Surprised Dd1 hasn't spotted them yet.
I could get her the Bratz ones but Dd2 can't read yet so it would be me playing with her. Oh well cheap stocking filler so what the hell.

Where do i get them from ???

Er no...Here is Top Trumps!

nutcracker · 06/10/2004 21:35

They were both ello

O.k so this ello stuff is just plastic bits that they stick togehter to make thing s right ??

Theres the cheapest ones on Ebay, they dont have the Bratz on in our shop yet, they have them in Fenwicks.
There are top trump juniors too, which are the same things but with numbers from 1-10 so they are simple to play, if your dd2 knows her 1-10 she could happily play no problem.

charliecatthenonsmoker · 06/10/2004 21:38

Yep thats it think its meant to be cool...but its not!

nutcracker · 06/10/2004 21:39

Oh right o.k, will see if i can find a shop by me that does them so i can have a good look.

charliecatthenonsmoker · 06/10/2004 22:13

Is it any use is said age 6 but had a lenght which looked big lol!

Aero · 08/10/2004 20:07

You should be able to get them in any good toy shop Nutty - ours came from Woolies!

nutcracker · 08/10/2004 20:11

I have ordered them a big dolls house today. Just hope it will be o.k. It was reduced from 150 quid, to 30 and said from age 14yrs. I emailed them and asked why and they said that actually it was suitable from about 7/8 yrs.
It is the same size as all the other toy ones i've seen but i think it is meant to be a proper dolls house iykwim.
Anyway i've orderd it now so we'll see. If it's no good i'll sell it.
