But if he is making more money why should the wife mind.

RubberDuck · 22/08/2007 18:31

I'm torn between shock and admiration...

... hmm, maybe dh should say that at his next company pay review ... (okay, so I'm not actually working... but still, every penny extra help!)

Cloudhopper · 22/08/2007 18:34

Doesn't surprise me.

On a slightly different note, dh went on to his boss about a payrise for years and didn't get one. Finally he went in and said "My wife is pregnant and she wants me to earn more money".

Within days he was given more money.

I still think he played a blinder tbh!

WanderingTrolley · 22/08/2007 18:49

He does seem to have gained from having a troglodyte as a new boss.

So from that point of view he has played a blinder.

Unless your friend's dh is also a troglodyte, in which case she should just leave the bastard etc.

On the other hand, is there the teensiest weensiest chance that your friend's dh has made all this up, possibly to annoy or to cover his meagre earning power?

i did a phone interview with the company my DH worked at, when they made the offer i said i earn more than that now, which i did. they said, but we can't pay you more than your DH. should have been a big sign not to take the job, bunch of old chauvie farts they were.
