I can lend you a cat, if that's your problem ?

MUMINAMILLION · 20/09/2004 19:30

What is THAT????? And where on earth do you find this stuff??

MUMINAMILLION · 20/09/2004 19:31

Well, I have 3 gerbils - do you think they would do the job?

MUMINAMILLION · 20/09/2004 19:32

But then again, they may get eaten by whatever could be lurking in there.

MUMINAMILLION · 20/09/2004 19:36

Sorry, killed the thread [shame]. Off to look in the Betterware catalogue ..........

twitcher · 20/09/2004 20:21

I've missed the 'high' point of this thread... but anyway, I really don't know what came over me today, but I took the covers off the 3 piece suite and chucked them in the washing machine - for the very first time in 10 years!

Clearing out the understairs cupboard, it is badly needing done and I have put it off for an amazing 7 months! DH not taking big major hints to give me a bloomin' hand.

There are spiders in there.

Big ones.

Ironing, ironing and always ironing - I hate it.

I'm pretty good on the bizarre once in a while jobs - in fact, I did lots over the summer holidays because the weather was so bad and the kids were driving me so nuts I just cleaned and cleaned. Cleaned the oven, sorted out under-stairs cupboard, cleared out all our wardrobes, cleared out kitchen cupboards, sorted out stuff for ebay and charity shops: house has never been so organised.

But ironing I just put off and off 'til the pile threatens to tip over and engulf us all.

carla · 21/09/2004 21:06

God Paula ... there are jobs like that here I haven't done in 7 years!!!

Kayleigh · 22/09/2004 12:17

clean the oven. it is revolting. Even bought the Lakeland oven cleaner for it, and that was months ago. I just can't summon up the enthusiasm for it. Am secretly hoping dh will do it if it gets disgusting enough

LunarSea · 22/09/2004 14:04

taking down the uplighters, to remove the latest collection of dead/fried flies - ugh!

blossomhill · 22/09/2004 14:10

I have finally cleaned by cooker today. I used that new stuff called Oven Pride. It was £3.50 from Asda. Brilliant, didn't have to scrub at all and all I really needed to do was wash it out with hot soapy water after about 2 hours. It looks brand new!

northstar · 22/09/2004 14:11

Removing all the webby/cocoony thingys from the outsides of my windows - do they have spiders nests in them or just one spider? I really don't want to find out, is there any chance whatsoever that they will simply disappear?[hopeful face]

hana · 22/09/2004 14:30

I'm too scared to read the rest of this 'cause I'll see loads of things I should do in addition to

putting pictures in the photo albums (last done 2 years ago)

cleaning all shelves in frontroom - had new windows put in last Dec and STILL haven't taken all books, etc down to have a good wipe

Kayleigh · 22/09/2004 14:38

codswallop, thanks loads for the link. Have emailed them to find out who does it in my area. I will wait till ds2 starts nursery school in two weeks and get someone in.

And then obviously I will tell dh I did it myself
