Narrator? Mary? Angel? Barn yard animal?

I was a member of the crowd ... which is pretty much where I've stayed ever since!

Not being chosen as Mary in the school nativity play fucks you up for life.

Spagblog · 23/07/2007 10:30

Angel, always a blinking angel...Just standing at the back trying to keep the silly coathanger halo on my head.

EscapeFrom · 23/07/2007 10:32

I was a narrator once I was old enough not to be a cow any more (ie could read well enough!)

following year i was a reader cos i had such a GOOD voice

MaureenMLove · 23/07/2007 10:33

I was Mary, when I was 6. Came home and told my mum all about it, but told her I was a bit disappointed that it was the same story they did last year!

taxidriver · 23/07/2007 10:33

why are we talking nativity in July?????????

JoolsToo · 23/07/2007 10:35

Mary

cazzybabs · 23/07/2007 10:36

Not nativity but I was a beach ball - humm amazing I haven't had an eating disorder in later life!

No-way I would let my dds be a beach ball - thanks mum! Everyone else was dols, teddy bears, soldiers etc...

Ok I was no doubt a fat child

Sixer · 23/07/2007 10:36

Angel twice, fainted twice.

BocoBeak · 23/07/2007 10:36

Narrator. I was always the narrator in school plays, apart from in Ernie's incredible illucinations where i was 'lady in the library.'

Furball · 23/07/2007 10:36

I was Mary's friend who spoke to her at the well when she was getting water

Hulababy · 23/07/2007 10:39

I was a very shy and demure Mary when I was about 6.

MrsBadger · 23/07/2007 10:42

My best friend and I were a narrator double act for years and years - early readers, articulate, bossy etc. Both went into science and are now deep in academia (though she has published twice as much as me). Think they must have relented in our final year as she got to be Mary, and I was Gabriel with four-foot silver wings. Result!

pointydog · 23/07/2007 10:43

only remember one nativity. Shepherd. Liked the tea towel, like long flowing hair

harpsichordcuddler · 23/07/2007 10:44

narrator, narrator, narrator
on one occasion I got to be a Wise Man (Caspar iirc)
who was also the narrator

MrsJohnCusack · 23/07/2007 10:44

a sheep I believe

wheresthehamster · 23/07/2007 10:48

One of the verse-speakers who sat at the side. Never ever had a costume

OrmIrian · 23/07/2007 10:49

Sheep, angel, christmas tree, narrator.

OrmIrian · 23/07/2007 10:49

Not all at the same time.
Obviously.

loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 10:53

A king...I was taller than all the boys. My best friend was Mary and my sister was always an angel. It has scarred me for life and even thinking about it now brings a tear to my eye!

Lolly68 · 23/07/2007 11:05

An Angel...

Megglevache · 23/07/2007 11:06

Gizmo · 23/07/2007 11:07

Donkey.

And narrator

OrmIrian · 23/07/2007 11:11

loony - I was always taller than most of the boys too. Hence the bloody tree....

loonylovegood · 23/07/2007 11:13

At least you got to be an angel!

I am going to remove my dd from school if they don't let her be an angel or Mary!
