Tinker

To answer your questions in reverse order. She waas 28. I don't know - she was going on and on about him being a public school boy and not her type - then they got really p**d together, it somehow changed her mind... i don't know i just can't fathom these people, least of all why they go on tv to sort out their love lives.

maybe because there are people like us out there to be interested!

Enid · 20/08/2002 09:58

I videoed WLTM and finally watched it last night - I agree with aloha, I was sitting there tutting saying, 'polycystic ovaries' (increasing dp's 'joy' having to watch it in the first place ). Still, I thought she looked SO much better, it was more the clothes and conversation rather than her facial appearance. The guy she went on the date with could have done with the team of experts too. Still, they seemed to hit it off.

aloha · 20/08/2002 11:32

Enid, so agree about the date guy - he needed more help than she did! Still felt a bit more optimistic about her by the end that at the beginning. Hope she does go to see her dr and that he's clued up about polycystic ovaries. Could change her life.

jessi · 21/08/2002 22:57

Mr I've shagged 140 chicks tonight didn't cut it for me, how about anyone else? I thought it was vaguely interesting but the panel said it was the best final date ever and it just left me cold. I thought his date was abit strange and I'm sorry but the woman who does the clothes obviously lost her sense of judgement the day she chose that dreadful shirt he wore at the end!

TOTALLY agree about the shirt - I thought physically he looked little better at the end than at the beginning - and usually the transformation is amazing. That said he did 'sparkle' a lot more at the end - I did think it was a 'nice' date.

Oh, I felt this bloke was quite sweet. And well matched with the final date. I thought she fancied him like mad. He was too keen though, needed to slow it down. Talk about 'hope there's more of these to come' or something. Feel he may get very hurt again soon!

Anyone else screaming at TV last night for Perfect Match 'JUST SLEEP TOGETHER!' They clearly wanted to (didn't have much else in common!) but felt it would be sending out wrong message.
Was intrigued to discover gay men use 'you bugger' as a term of sort of endearment.

aloha · 23/08/2002 13:59

Agree with the comments on the comedy clothes. He looked a twerp. Still, I thought he was a lot nicer, warmer as a person, and I thought he was just head over heels at the end. I must say, his past would totally put me off, but I thought it was quite sweet how keen he was on the girl. My dh was a bit like that when we met (apart from the swingling, of course ) Wonder if they are still together?

Rhiannon · 23/08/2002 20:10

Yuk the shirt was definitely vile and looked to small to me! R

Elf · 23/08/2002 20:25

Anyone else think that Jay the clothes adviser needs some advice herself? I think the other two are quite good and one is even a psychologist I think but the clothes one just "buys clothes" for the person. And I could do better than her I'm sure. I wouldn't put a person in army trousers or a fun shirt that's for sure.

I'm dying for Trinny and Susannah to come back. Anyone know how you could get that sort of advice ie style etc without going on national tv? Reckon I could do with a makeover myself after all this pregnancy/breastfeeding lark.

I love Trinny and Susannah. Apparently they are doing a celebrity programme featuring Lesley Joseph and Jeremy Clarkson. Looking forward to that! I would love to be made over but just dread the thought of some of the things they would drag from my wardrobe!

Chinchilla · 23/08/2002 23:47

I would love to be made over but for the fact that I would hate to have those two patronising, condescending cows commenting on my style - or their perceived lack of it.

Good programme though, if you don't mind cringing, and leaving your toenails in the carpet!

Yeah Star, he was so DULL! I felt a bit sorry for him because the panel were choosing women who were - well - out of his league, to be frank!

sis · 06/09/2002 15:46

I know but I did feel sorry for him esp with a mum who wanted to be a 'mate' - no, that's not your job, you are his mother!!!

I LOVED What Not To Wear. Thought Jeremy Clarkson was hilarious. And he looked so much better.

bossykate · 06/09/2002 15:59

sad really. couldn't commit, could he? seemed to find it impossible to tell the panel what he thought of each girl - always trying to take reference from what they thought of him, instead of knowing himself what he wanted. wasn't quite sure what to make of that snowboarding trip. were we led to believe she wasn't entirely honest about her feelings just to go on the trip? confused about that one.

have to say this programme has not lived up to its early promise imo!

and - i much prefer the female psychologist!

spacemonkey · 06/09/2002 16:14

His mother was an absolute HORROR! I told dp to shoot me if I ever start looking like that!

emsiewill · 06/09/2002 16:16

I also enjoyed What Not to Wear - thought Lesley Joseph looked million times better after her make over - esp her hair. Jeremy Clarkson was very funny, just like a big kid!

glitterbabe · 06/09/2002 16:22

Loved Leslie Joseph's makeover, her make-up looked much more natural and took years of her. Jeremey Clarkson scrubbed up well too, and he was really funny. I loved Susannah's comment about Christina Hamilton favouring the regional boutique. I thought the mother of the lad on perfect match looked like Suzy Quatro in drag, any girl that dullard may meet in the future will have problems competing with his mother.
