Exercise will help you will all these I think.

Even just walking or swimming. This will cut out stress, help you lose weight, you won't want to smoke because you're exercising and you will feel more confident because you've lost weight.

Go for it, take a day at a time but slowly you will realise you feel and look better.

Good luck

VerySensibleKbear · 03/06/2007 21:20

and sorry to hear about the bad news...

PinkMartini · 03/06/2007 21:21

Hi there
I am sorry to hear you've had some bad news.
I need to lose the same amount of weight (though nothing too drastic as am ttc) and I'm sure that some others will be along to help too.

Stress- why are you stressed? Do you have a stressful job? What do you do in your spare time? (apart from MN?) DO you not have any time, is that why you're feeling stressed?

Confidence - tell us more about you and we will help you find reasons to feel better about yourself - often strangers are much more objective.

hth - it's a start?

PinkMartini · 03/06/2007 21:22

kbear is also right on the exercise front (she has earned her verysensible moniker)
but I'm a serial exercise avoider and need to follow her advice too.

Hi Harman,

Sorry to hear things are difficult for you at the moment. What sort of things do you enjoy doing? What would make you feel better about yourself?

Lol harman no
MN can be a godsend - friendship at the end of the computer and companionship - particularly if you're home alone. But if you're missing out on sleep lurking here when you should be getting rest so you can deal with DCs, then that's not ideal.

If you've had 4 kids, you're not likely to ever be the skinny minnie you were before but you can increase the good things you're eating - fruit and veg and cut out things that are going to make you feel bad in the long run. Yes, I know that the packet of crisps/ chocolate bar feels good while you're eating it (I know, really I do) but you feel rubbish afterwards so it's better to go for the healthy option.

I really think you're brave coming on here trying to get things sorted but perhaps the key is to do things slowly - work on your diet and smoking and then cut down on the drinking for example.

Have you seen your GP

How old are your dcs?

Sorry lots of questions.

charliecat · 03/06/2007 22:41

Shes a skinny minnie in RL, a lovely skinny minnie, with no stretch marks...she just needs self confidence classes to realise it and see herself for what she is. Bloody marvelous.
My local adult ed actually does then. Does your harman?
Thats what you need.
Warm beer smelling hugs from me

You're right there - off you go, switch off MN, nothing to see here and head off to bed. I'm going to do the same shortly.

charliecat · 03/06/2007 23:09

I am not exaggerating. You are lovely, you have very low self esteem that all. Im a hairy trotting pig but with the sun out and my moustache bleached I dont give a damn.(see profile for proof lol)
Really, compare yourself to 10 others in the playground and tell me your still THAT bad?
How many others would swop for your figure, your glossy hair etc?
Take a took at yourself from someone elses eyes.

Pan · 04/06/2007 00:08

turning into you would be a compliment.

Nope, no fags...horrid things...finally 'sorted out' the ahem 'issue' that was pissing me off so and giving an excuse to smoke..when there isn't one really......now I just keep pointing folk to whyquit...still dip into it time to time....

charliecat · 04/06/2007 00:11

Excellent, i went back to whyquit and put my 1 year testimony thingy on there...you can do it too before you know it turkey triumphs i think its called.
You know, the thought of having to stop again brings tears to my eyes....I couldnt have another.

Pan · 04/06/2007 00:14

I am sooo far away from even contemplating it. I have to ban myself from thinking back to when I did smoke..when I thought "just one..will stop tomorrow...." just so sad.....right. Bed time. See you. And thank you for WQ.x
