Simple adult things you can't do.

I have reached the grand age of 27 and I still have to have somone else slice non sliced bread for me. If I do try it ends up either wonky and uneven, or fat at one end and paper thin at the other.

Also every time I iron, the creases remain and I want to lob the iron at the wall.

What are some simple adult things that you still can't do?

I make lovely fried eggs the secret is to leave it and flick the oil over the top, poached eggs howeve r look like a Doctor Who alien. Dd2 makes them for everybody

I have literally no idea how to use a McDonalds/Burger King etc Drive Thru. I get absurdly anxious when I think about it now.

Having been with OH for ten years, he once asked if I would pop by his work late at night with a McFlurry from the 24hr drive thru. I had to embarassedly explain that no.... I couldn't...

I can't parallel park. I can't poach eggs. Can't cook steak. Can't make coffee. Can't cut fresh bread OR spread butter on it. BUT I can change a plug. Get rid of spiders.

Ican't "work" subway or Nandos I get flustered

I don’t know how to do anything with my smart TV except change channels.

Soft-boil an egg. It always ends up over cooked. I also can't cut bread straight.

Can't make omelettes.
Can't plumb in a tv/sky box etc.
Have never rewired a plug

(Can parallel park like a queen though!)

Can't blow up a balloon 🤷‍♀️

Tbf plugs come intergrated these I don't think I have needed to change a plug in about 10 years.

Only in the past month have I successfully fried an egg.

I am 33.

Ooh there are loads of things that most adults can do that I can't do! Here is a random list of some of them. I can't:
Swim
Make spag bol or lasagne
Parallel park my car
Change the headlight bulbs in my car
Use that horrible big roundabout at junction 11 on the M4
Drive into London (too nervous of getting lost)
Poach eggs
Do long division or other basic arithmetic

I still struggle with child safe medicine caps

@shirleyschmidt snap. Even more embaressing as I used to be a childrens party entertainer 😂 id be like "come on children-blow a balloon up and ill make you an animsl!"

Put lids on things properly

I can't:

Poach eggs.

Recognise routes that I drive if I'm coming the other way.

Get in the habit of doing dishes every day.

Keep most plants alive (I've killed multiple cacti.)

Touch type. I type very quickly but I only use one finger of my left hand and my right hand does the rest.

I don't iron if I can help it.

The car is never clean.

I almost never hoover. I think I've done it 3 times this year. Luckily there's a corridor outside my front door so I don't traips dirt straight in.

I can't ride a bike, whistle, or wink.

Or carry the cat properly apparently.

I can't order from the chippy without a note

I can't iron. I can move the iron about on top of the piece of clothing, buts just as wrinkled afterwards.

I can't male a soft boiled egg properly (always over or undercooked), though I can poach eggs no problem.

I can't swim crawl, though I'm very strong at breaststroke and backstroke.

I'm quite arty/crafty but I'm terrible at painting walls using a paint roller. I leave an awful streaky mess even if it's just white paint. I do nice paintings and drawings though.

Drive

Off the top of my head...I can't drive or swim beyond not drowning straight away. I can't tie laces without really really thinking about it. I can't do proper cursive writing or hold a pen in the "correct" way. I can't eat spaghetti without making a mess. I can't peel veg with a knife.

I can’t change a light bulb without injuring myself.

Maintain control.

Fold stuff.
Keep wardrobes and drawers tidy

There is a specific knack to slicing bread
