Finding out if I am pregnant....alone or together?

Hi everyone. I hope i have put this in the right place!
I have been trying to conceive for a while, and using a trackers app, we had intercourse on my predicted ovulation day just over 2 weeks ago. I was due on yesterday but still haven't started yet, so fingers crossed its good news. My question is, this close to Christmas, do I take a test on my own and if positive share the news on Christmas day. Or is doing the test, the waiting and the finding out part of the process that should be done together?

No right or wrong way! I have never tested with DH or told him I am testing but just showed him result straight after. It would have felt more pressured to have us both staring at the stick!

I told DH that I felt a bit different and it might be I'm pregnant... he brushed it off for both pregnancies "you want want to be pregnant" etc. So I tested and gave him the results straight after Smile good luck to you OP

Thank you everyone. I'm at work running to the toilet every 5 minuets to see if anything has changed! It's getting silly.

I'd do a test but tell him the result straight away if positive. No need to wait to Christmas!

Ask him whether he wants to be involved in the testing? I've done different things over the months. I just got a BFP this morning and I'm going to wrap it up as an early Xmas present. But he just texted me about something that happened at work and I felt soooo guilty for not spilling immediately! Doh! But he can wait a few hours :)

Congratulations. That wonderful for you. to be honestly i don't think i could last a week and it would be an early present IF!!
I've just never been pregnant before and wasn't sure if it was something that ppl do together or not.....its not really talked about. all the other lovely details are though!

I've generally poas a lot, waited till I was due then chose an appropriate time to tell Dh. It was early this time as I Poas to check if I was pregnant as I thought I had a uti - it turned out I was positive for both.

I think I’d rather know either now or wait until after Christmas as if it wasn’t positive and I was expecting/hoping it would be, it could put extra emotion on an already fairly heightened day. Also I have no self control about poas Grin

We had waited such a long time and had many false starts. This time, something just felt off and we stopped off on the way home to get a test. I went to poas, left it in the bathroom and then we went back to look together. I needed the support of it was negative. A friend got her bfp and managed to wait around 2 weeks to tell her DH on his birthday. Whatever works for you both.

After all that I got a BFN last night. boo.
I'm still waiting for AF to come visit though, so I'm not convinced yet. the plan is to see if anything changes by Friday and then try poas again.

Shmithecat, thank you for that. Stops me worrying that there might be something else up with me. Or that i just can't poas properly!

DH thinks I am overreacting, but things have been very regular ever since i got the implant taken out, until now that is.
