happycat · 22/07/2004 14:52

where about Twinkie?

OP posts:
Twinkie · 22/07/2004 14:54

Sidcup/New Eltham way - just near the Greenwich Uni Campus.

happycat · 22/07/2004 14:56

I live near to blue water perhaps I could try and get to a south east meet up next time.

I'm still here! I'm in Canterbury and boy is it hot here today!

happycat · 22/07/2004 15:02

we had a caravan in Sturry until recently. It is so nice in those parts.

LucyJones · 22/07/2004 15:03

Sturry's nice, did you go to Fordwich? There is a very nice pub there called The George and Dragon - delicious food

othername · 22/07/2004 15:20

Im in Tunbridge Wells, Pupuce is too, im charliecat, was fiddling with my name earlier and need to un fiddle it!

suedonim · 22/07/2004 17:06

I'm a former Kent Girl, (now domiciled in Scotland) brought up in Herne Bay and then lived in Whitstable and Canterbury, along the Sturry Road. I never heard anyone say Sturry was nice before, we thought it was the pits, with that awful sewage works!! Fordwich is nice, though, we used to frequent that pub.

Cadbury · 22/07/2004 17:35

Hi, I'm fairly new to msn and live in Chatham. I put a call out for kent mums a while back but that bumped. Glad to know there are others out there. Quietly melting today. How is everyone else?

Cadbury · 22/07/2004 17:49

Now isn't that just typical. I sit down for 2 minutes to chat on line and the heavens open all over my bone dry washing.

charliecat · 22/07/2004 17:52

Absoultly typical, im going to get mine in before it starts here

Freckle · 22/07/2004 18:55

I'm here, just busy, busy, busy. I'm in Maidstone and Aero is a Kent girl too, in Chatham.

Cadbury · 22/07/2004 21:22

Aero will be back online in a few days. Are we thinking about meeting up girls or just finding out who's around?

happycat · 22/07/2004 21:28

Suedomin the sewage works were stinking last summer.I don't know when you moved but there is now a mc Donalds right near it can't imagine they do a lot of business there. It was unbearable when we were walking around tk max.We go to the punch a lot only because there is a charly chalks in it.Lucy I have seen that pub though and always thought that it looked nice I might try it next time

happycat · 22/07/2004 21:31

Feckle perhaps a meet up in September when all the school holidays are over would be great. We could go out and celebrate just getting through it and pat each other on the back.I will be busy until then

OP posts:
happycat · 22/07/2004 21:32

and cadbury would love a meet up then

dejags · 22/07/2004 21:33

Another Kent/SE London girl... Orpington for me... I did go to one meet up but forgot the balloon to ID me as a mumsnetter - sat there like a lemon for 2 hours and when I finally plucked up the courage to approach the one other person with a balloon (tillymint I think) it was time for me to go.

Maybe I will get to a meetup before we emigrate...

suedonim · 22/07/2004 22:14

Bleugh, Happycat, that must be the worst-situated McD's in the world! I'm amazed they ever get anyone in through the door. The council has been promising to do something about the sewage works since at least the early 70's, maybe even the 1960's. I can't believe they haven't either solved the problem or built a new one elsewhere. Btw, we left C/bury in 1979 but still go to visit my sister, in Wincheap.

suedonim · 22/07/2004 22:16

Oh, yes, forgot to say, we go to the Punch when we visit mil. We don't like to risk eating in her house and she's rather fond of the Punch so we take her there.

Fio2 · 23/07/2004 08:31

Me I'm in suedonim's old haunt, atm will be moving AGAIN in a few months though

all I ever seem to do in sturry is queue in traffic

Fio2 · 23/07/2004 08:33

we go to the Punch too!

honeybunny · 23/07/2004 09:00

I'm another TWells girl. Quaranteened at home at the moment with ds2 and chickenpox , ds1 has temperature and expecting spots at any moment. So much for our daytrip to London and the museums and Camber sands over the w/e.

Freckle · 23/07/2004 09:09

Yes, a September meet up would be good. Very busy over the holidays running children here, there and everywhere, plus trying to fit in work as well.

charliecat · 26/07/2004 10:21

Oh Hello HoneyBunny! Where abouts are you? im a few mins away from High Brooms Station.
