What have you 'made' your DH/DP get rid of?

I made DH get rid of his gorilla mask, because I didn't like it. (And then I wanted it yesterday, to wear while trying on dresses for MN )

I know Frances made her DP get rid of his House of the Dead game.

Come on, 'fess up!

his first car that needed too much work on it to get through its MOT. I sold it for scrap while he was at work

fishie · 20/04/2007 11:33

i thought i'd made him get rid of his rusty old grenade (no innards) but then i foudn it last week

Beauregard · 20/04/2007 11:33

Well i haven't managed it yet but iv'e been working on him for years,to ditch his ponytail.
I have pointed out to him the benefits of not being mistaken for David semen pre-chop.

NomDePlume · 20/04/2007 11:34

His mistress

NomDePlume · 20/04/2007 11:34

NomDePlume · 20/04/2007 11:35

MerryMarigold · 20/04/2007 11:36

still not made him get rid of rugby gum shield. he hasn't played for over 5 years!

Tommy · 20/04/2007 11:37

his car - very nice but entirely unpractical for a baby seat!

Beauregard · 20/04/2007 11:39

But he really does look like old Dave.
Dp is just a pussy,i should just chop it off in the night

NomDePlume · 20/04/2007 11:40

hahahahaha

Enid · 20/04/2007 11:41

god nothing

I love all his pre-me detritus

Boco · 20/04/2007 11:44

His paintings of skin diseases and a rubber urinal from his art degree days.

Still trying to persuade him to get rid of the preserved umbilical cord, and his antique dentist chair that he thinks is stylish and i think is vile.

Enid · 20/04/2007 11:45

oh he sounds fabulous

the chair sounds great

Beauregard · 20/04/2007 11:45

Good idea NDP
It is a pity that dp doesn't take advantage of all the fabbo hair dressers we have in kiddy.

choosyfloosy · 20/04/2007 11:45

i hated his sofa and 2 enormous armchairs in swirly blue-green.

sofa went to bil. 1st armchair went to shed some time ago and is finally going next week. 2nd armchair - well, in last 2 years i've noticed that they are really comfortable so that one can stay til it falls to bits. still ugly though.

Dinosaur · 20/04/2007 11:46

Nothing. I wish. He is an incorrigible hoarder. If I go first, they will find him years later living in little tunnels in between all his piles of papers.

NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 11:46

Boco, are you married to David Sedaris?

dh had a HORRIBLE jumper. it made him look like my grandad. seriously, people have been jailed for less.

i regret to inform you that i lacked the boulders to say anything, but some years ago he noticed it was gone when we returned from a minibreak.

i can only assume he left it in the hotel.

in the bin under a load of paper towels or something i assume.

NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 11:47

Seriously, do you guys actually throw things out without the permission of your DH or DP? I couldn't do that ... he keeps fearing I will, but I really couldn't.

DimpledThighs · 20/04/2007 11:50

some of his sword collection

Spidermama · 20/04/2007 11:54

His Subutteo set and astro pitch. I freecycled it yesterday as it goes.

This is a new campaign for me. I've never believed in forcing him to get rid of things, but now I'm drowning in his clutter so I'm taking tough action.

There are some rank clothes which I'm eyeing up.

When he was a kid, my MIL tells me, she finally traced the source of the bad smell in the house to a dead bird he'd been hiding for his studies.

They have to be watched I tell you.

nearlythere · 20/04/2007 11:59

i didn't make him get rid of it but i lost it- his old wedding ring!!!

i put it somewhere safe then did a massive clearout at home so came to the conclusion that it was safely put into a binbag to this day though i'm still not sure, and dh didn't have the guts to make an issue of it!!!!

Hathor · 20/04/2007 12:04

Most of his ghastly baggy beige clothes. His sideburns. His grotty old car. His pasta-making and beer-making clobber.
Stopped short at his music collection

ska · 20/04/2007 12:04

membership of the SWP (not current dh tho!)
