I made DH get rid of his gorilla mask, because I didn't like it. (And then I wanted it yesterday, to wear while trying on dresses for MN )

I know Frances made her DP get rid of his House of the Dead game.

Come on, 'fess up!

redhotdiva · 20/04/2007 12:08

oh i get rid of that for him every few weeks just wish he would let me wax his shoulders

NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 16:53

Oh, I made an ex not wear his alarming white/cream blazer. Looked like something you'd see in a coffee advert.

I'm pretty sure he kept it and gloried in wearing it after I dumped him, though.

Millions (literally)of old cassettes
A sleeveless binman style jacket(this is not a joke)
When we first met he had I can hardly bring myself to type this COWBOY BOOTS!

Smurfgirl · 20/04/2007 16:59

Loads of clothes before we got together.

I completely revamped his wardrobe before going out with him, then I started to fancy him.

About 5 computers.

NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 17:00

Oh god, yes, I've made DH throw out loads of computers. We still have ... hmmm ... I don't see any dead ones at the moment, so there only three that are out, and they're all working ...

We have 5(?) laptops at the moment and apparently only 6 computers? We have a 3 bed house but one room is jammed full of computers and computer related shite.

Dp surprisingly is an IT technician

MrsCellophane · 20/04/2007 17:09

Windsurfer - I did a deal with sby whose DH was wanting one, at a Toddler Group. I thought it was perfectly reasonable (he did have a chance to say "no"), since he refused to buy a roofrack for his car, so he could actually use the windsurfer!

Astrophe · 20/04/2007 17:09

the telly

If I made him throw stuff out he might well turn round and moan about my stuff, probably far more of it!

Spidermama · 20/04/2007 18:30

Astophe that's quite a feat. So you have no telly now?

Ilovemyboy · 20/04/2007 19:05

His Man U boxers (I am a Liverpool fan).

I picked them up with a stick and threw them in a tree facing the french doors in the living room of our old flat and left them there until he noticed.

I was half-expecting there to be a family of birds living in them when I got them down.

Ilovemyboy · 20/04/2007 19:07

There is also one zip up cardi (v. 80s dad) that I want him to get rid of but he likes it so I think it is for keeps.

LucyJones · 20/04/2007 19:10

his housemates... so we could live on our own
his adamancy that he didn't want to get married
ditto have kids
his study... so we could have no.2

NotQuiteCockney · 20/04/2007 20:11

But LJ, if you hadn't done that, you could have interesting conversations about zombies, now!

Thats right Spider, no telly for almost 5 years (our whole married life)! Occasioanlly we whines and says he wants to get a telly, and I say "fine", but he never gets one. He knows he has no self control and having a telly will mean he watches it all the time and the family falls apart, so still no telly for us. We watch DVDs on the PC and buy TV series we like on DVD too - its cheaper than a TV licence. We are currently working through House Season 2.

yesireallycan · 20/04/2007 21:47

His very old stash of very low quality porn mags I found in the drawer of the divan bed in his flat - if you are going to have porn it may as well be stylish

ILoveDolly · 20/04/2007 21:51

my mum and i once threw my dads denim shorts on the bonfire when he wasn't looking.
my dp is averse to throwing things out too, but now i have taught him to put out a bag for the charity shop he can manage it - 'as long as they are going to a good home' he says stroking his foul old jumpers and misguided polyester purchases.
