my cat just attacked a baby mouse

I managed to get the cat off it, and saw it was still alive and not hurt, but I think its in shock. I have put it in a cage, with water and food, what else can I do

Dh and his friend took it outside and killed it I wouldn't have been able to do it. Nemo does have a collar with a bell, but I found it in the garden so he must have got it off.
