Hi girls

I'll post this here and in 'other subjects' too.

Basically I'm doing a 10,000 ft skydive on the 14th August and have also roped in 9 fantastic friends! It's being organised by the Down's Syndrome Association (the DSA).

I have paid for my jump so every penny I raise goes straight to the DSA.

If you would like to sponsor me then please click on the link below. This will take your donation and give you more details.
Please add your mumsnet name as well as your real name so I can contact you all after to say thanks ands send pics to you, unless you'd rather remain anonymous.

And no I'm not looking forward to it and yes I do feel sick every time I think about it

You can sponsor me here

I've sponsored you too, blimey you're brave! I get panicked on a high bridge and wouldn't contemplate jumping out of a perfectly good 'plane. Good luck!

lemonice · 27/06/2004 19:46

This is going some Thomcat, what a great total!!

Pes · 27/06/2004 20:02

Thomcat, you are very very brave, I couldn't do it if my life depended on it. Good Luck!!
Lottie is sooo beautiful

Thomcat · 27/06/2004 20:03

IT'S AMAZING ISN'T IT lEMONRICE. WAIT TILL i GIVE YOU ALL THE GRAND TOTAL AS SOME PEOPLE HAVE FILLED OUT THE FORM BY HAND AND NOT DONATED ONLINE, IT GETS BETTER!

Sorry about the caps, just looked up!

I'm not brave I'm cacking it! I saw the request in the DSA journal and thought, yeah okay I'll do it. told everyone that night and the next day so i couldn't back out and now i'm in DEEP!

Every time I fel sick i think of everyone who has been kind and think about the reason I'm doing it and it helps.

i don't want to think what i'm going to be like on the day and the night before.

The other thing getting me through is that I know the anticipation is always the worse thing so i'm sure I'll be fine at the time of the actual dive.

ohhh there goes my stomach.

Think I'd rather have appeared on GMTV then do this.... actually no strike that, I'd rather jump out of a plane, seriously, see I feel better again realising I was more nervous about live TV!!

What an amazing total!!! it';s only the first 3 people on that form that aren't from Mumsnet!!!!!!

Other people have donated but not using that site, that's almost exclusively all lovely mumsnetters who've raised that amount, that's amazing!

Thank you Mumsnet team for letting me do this and thank you all lovley mumsnetters who've donated money. I can't believe that total just from you guys!!!!

Can't wait to get home and tell my mum and D.

Speak to you later. TC xx

essbee, you madwoman , why don't some of us sponsor you for the deposit ahead of time (ie send you a cheque direct instead of doing it via the website?) If people do a CAT you can send your address? (I already have it, boast boast!)

essbee · 28/06/2004 23:12

Yes of course it's OK essbee! The only (slight) drawback is that the DSA don't get the tax relief this way but I was struggling how to fill in the form for TC anyway cos I don't pay tax and I wasn't sure at what point to put DH's name in so gave up!

So I will post you a cheque, flower. Even though you are nuts!

nikcola · 29/06/2004 02:34

dont worry thomcat about the cheque i just sponsored you on your web site

Thomcat · 29/06/2004 02:38

Shall we start another thread saying not to sponsor me anymore but please sponsor Esbee and i'll see if I can transfer some of my sponsor over to you???????

OP posts:
Thomcat · 29/06/2004 02:39

lemonice · 16/07/2004 14:36

Just wondered how the preparations are going and whether essbee was still in

Ronniebaby · 16/07/2004 15:44

Wow Thomcat, just looked at your total, Fantastic.

Is Essbee still doing it, if so she needs to get a thread started with a link so we who want to sponsor her can.

TC - You'll have to let us know what it was like after.
