noddyholder · 22/02/2007 11:58

My ds has always had long blond surfer hair and he's 12 now!I love it and so does he.We had it cut about 6 months ago as I had a headlice fit and couldn't cope with the combibng but he is growing it back he just wasn't the same without it!Leave it alone

NbgsYellowFeathers · 22/02/2007 11:59

god my nephew is 7 and he has really long hair

he has been encouraged by his mother

he is wanting to look like legolas from Lord of the Rings

he just looks like a hippy fool

you need to grow out of this now before you go down this road

Davenid · 22/02/2007 12:00

yes
listen to your dh

they are always right about childrens hair (not blinded by maternalism)

Jessajam · 22/02/2007 12:00

Nope.

NbgsYellowFeathers · 22/02/2007 12:01

Oh god, dont want the Legolas look.

Was thinking more along the lines of Mr Depp length.

itsmeNDaveP · 22/02/2007 12:02

yes.

TeetheCeeofDavedom · 22/02/2007 12:03

oh can't we see pics.

I love boys with long hair.
Is it all wavy and tousled looking (is that a word?!)

NbgsYellowFeathers · 22/02/2007 12:04

hang on I'll link...

Loads of boys round here have long hair, I like it. One of mine has long, one short, their choice. I think an issue for you might be if your dh will feel proud of your ds, though. If he's uncomfortable with it , your ds may pick up on it, which would be a shame. Think I'd try talking to dh about his feelings, personally!

NbgsYellowFeathers · 22/02/2007 12:08

here but its longer than that now

OP posts:
itsmeNDaveP · 22/02/2007 12:09

I like it that length, but I think longer could be a bit, ummmmm, too much

itsmeNDaveP · 22/02/2007 12:09

You don't have to give him a crew cut or anything so drastic

Jessajam · 22/02/2007 12:10

Awwww!

IF you do get it cut...only a little trim to get it back under control, ok?

Aloha · 22/02/2007 12:10

Yes, I would.

Aloha · 22/02/2007 12:11

Cute baby btw! Just as cute with shorter hair.

NbgsYellowFeathers · 22/02/2007 12:12

Yeah, i think its more the back thats the problem, although the top isnt as spiky now because its got longer so it pulls it down.

Should I do it myself or is that a recipe for disaster?

I wouldnt mind but dd's hair didnt start growing until she was over a year old!

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2007 12:13

It's up to you

My ds has preposterous hair and I love it

Maybe it is a bit startling on so young a baby? However I am of the opinion that if they can't have long daft hairstyles now, when can they?

noddyholder · 22/02/2007 12:15

He is gorgeous!Leave his lovely hair with short he will look like every other baby He is very unusual looking as he is So cuddly!

lemonaid · 22/02/2007 12:16

That photo is very cute! I might trim it a bit back to roughly the length it was there, because it looks so good like that.

IntergalacticDave · 22/02/2007 12:16

Agree Franny.
DS1 is often mistaken for a girl, but he has such gorgeous soft curly blonde hair, I can't bear to cut it (although, I do sometimes trim it mo make it look a littl less mullety)

It wont be long before he is sporting ridiculous hairstyles in an assortment of horrenous colours, so I'm making the most of it while I can!

NbgsYellowFeathers · 22/02/2007 12:17

awww thanks

have just realised, can you see all the other pics in my album?

Ooops!

OP posts:
shonaspurtle · 22/02/2007 12:18

Your wee boy is gooooorgeous! Cut his hair back to that length again - it's so cute!

IntergalacticDave · 22/02/2007 12:18

btw yellow feathers, he is lovely! I love babies with lots of hair.

DS1 was bald as a coot until he was 8 months old.

DS2 is following the sme pattern so far (Although he does have that cute littlw bald patch from where he sleeps on his back, and all his hair's been rubbded off)
