Happy New Year Phalanx and, indeed, all of Mumsnet!!

We've had the wedding. We've had Christmas. Or, as I refer to it: THE MOST AMAZING CHRISTMAS EVER.

Now it's onward one day at a time.

There will be planning of the wake so it's going to be THE MOST AMAZING PARTY THREAD EVER.

Don't get me wrong, I never met a cake I didn't like but it's the cheesy savoury stuff that I absolutely love, to the point where I can only have it in the house on special occasions and not too far in advance of needing to feed it to other people.

I like the idea of a pickled onion variant hedgehog. I actually looked up today whether pickled onions count as one of your five a day and I was extremely sad to see they don't.

Happy new year Zombie, having followed your threads for a wee while now, my wish for your 2017 is that your magic medicine pot be full (and your bowel be easily emptied😁). Sending love and strength xxx

Zombie I am bringing a hedgehog with cocktail sausages and a crustless quiche for any low carbers. I add Shirley Bassey 'The performance of my life' to the playlist.

DH has rustled up a ham hock terrine for NYD, Zombie - I can get him to do another with some picalilli?

Are we going to have entertainment or are we going to provide our own. ( I can't do anything )
We need to have a catering manager
An entertainment manager
And a music manager
And probably a bouncer or two to stop gatecrashers

Now food . I make mean chilli and curry so will bring vats of it with baked potatoes and microwaveable rice . For those who like hot . Must bring microwave too. And gin .

I absolutely love curry - DH and I are working our way through 'Capital Spice" at the moment - The Lamb curry by Atl Kochhar was amazing.. -

Hi Zombie I think I've posted on one of your threads before, I've certainly laughed and cried along with you. So glad your Christmas was wonderful.

As for food! I'm drowning in the stuff, I've got pate, cheese, pavlova, biscotti, roast beef, and chocolates galore. Please someone save me from myself.

Can I come and lurk at your party if I bring a ginormous chocolate birthday cake (from a festive family birthday when nobody wants to eat another mouthful)? I'll throw in several bottles of Prosecco bought by an over enthusiastic dh on his first trip to Aldi.

I've lurked forever. I make good gruyere tartlets and a creme caramel. Dear Zombie I heard someone belting out non je ne regrette rien on the Graham Norton show. And I have a garage full of champagne glasses . It is possible to drink anything out of a champagne glass
