Happy New Year Phalanx and, indeed, all of Mumsnet!!

We've had the wedding. We've had Christmas. Or, as I refer to it: THE MOST AMAZING CHRISTMAS EVER.

Now it's onward one day at a time.

There will be planning of the wake so it's going to be THE MOST AMAZING PARTY THREAD EVER.

Food wise, well, it's too early on a New Years' Day here for me to think about food. Ask me when I'm a bit more recuperated!

DH and I are getting to the age where we're getting our act together estate- and 'final' party-wise (no funeral!) for the sake of our sons. The only songs I know I'd like played at my party are (Disney-phile that I am) When You Wish Upon A Star, A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, and The Beatles' In My Life. DH thinks they're pretty maudlin, but each one has meaning to me. He says he wants Gordon Lightfoot's The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald because it's his favourite song but the rest of the 'playlist' is up to us.

Delurking (after figuring out how to change my password) to wish you a Happy New Year Zombie. It's a hot one down here in NZ, 30 degrees yesterday so I'll toast you all with a Pimms. I've been following for a while but didn't want to intrude, then I figured bugger it!

Always need the party food to be to hand (that's what freezers are for).

As for music - I shall watch with interest indeed! None of the Mozarts are (currently at least) on the endangered list, but for all sort of reasons we're making our lists of music and requirements for when it's time for each of us. My brain has gone phut and I can't think of any songs that I want to be The Songs.

I have greggs sausage rolls in the freezer. Icelands best.

I have turkey and stuffing pasties, cheese and onion rolls, Ferrero Rocher and Heston mince pies.

Another de-lurker here. I've read and admired you from afar for some considerable time and am amazed at your resilience. You spread such strength and love to those who follow you. Happy New Year Zombie, I'm so glad Zlad and Zlass were able to spend Christmas with you. Your excited updates really made (and many others I suspect) really smile.

There is a song I look to and play when I need a kick up the arse. I know Swedish metal tends to offend. :o but hey, this is my idea of wow.

We have had so much food here, I can offer a half of a very large christmas cake , and a half bottle of cassis if anyone likes Kir Royale, sorry no champagne though.....
