As the exchange rate is so good I should take advantage of this and get him to go shopping - all I can think of so far is Clinique stuff and Gap (for me and the kids). Any other ideas??

He is away over half term so going to have a great week!!

TIA

Heelies?

Bucketsofdynomite · 07/02/2007 22:57

Sebastien Laminates Drops hair serum from drugstores/beauty shops. This is the dog's bllcks of hair serums and is £18 over here, less than $18 over there, lasts for ages.

Cherry Koolaid (not for kids LOL)
Vans trainers, always cool and half the price over there.

alibubbles · 08/02/2007 16:54

Well I'd like some melatonin please!

Scootergirl · 08/02/2007 16:55

Troutpout · 08/02/2007 17:01

He's def bringing back heelys for ds (ds has already asked for them for his birthday)

Troutpout · 08/02/2007 17:01

foxtrot · 08/02/2007 17:10

a big pile of victoria's secret knickers

purpleprincess · 08/02/2007 18:36

Thanks for these ideas - wasnt sure what you meant by Heelies - presume the trainers with wheels? My kids are too young for those...well they dont know what they are.

Thanks a lot
I'll let you know what he turns up with...

diamonds - always cheaper in the states, now with the exchange rate, positively affordable.

IPODs

"little me" do gorgeous babies and kids clothes.

foxtrot · 08/02/2007 20:32

Gymboree and The Childrens Place do great kids clothes.

Booboobedoo · 08/02/2007 20:34

Really good quality cowboy boots - if you like that kind of thing. You can get some really funky ones for about half the price they go for over here.

Whizzz · 08/02/2007 20:35

George Clooney

malaleche · 08/02/2007 20:36

A juicer. The American ones are the best.

Daemara · 09/02/2007 13:17

send him to Old Navy for clothes instead of gap, i'm pretty sure old Navey is owned by gap anyway but they have really cute kids clothes. you can look them up online then give him a list! We can't go the the states without returning with loads of stuff from there as well as assorted snack food for ds (age 3) and his friends, teddy Grahams, goldfish, and jello instant pudding mix. If on a budget send him to target or wal-mart which always has great toys and so on for entertaining kids. oh and Bath and Body Works as they have some nice bubble bath type things. check them out online to see whats on offer. oldnavy.com bathandbodyworks.com you can always visit selfridges food hall to try some american style junk food then send a list!

Reese's peanut butter cups. Yum Yum, totally addictive. Wooloies in UK used to sell them at one point

grouchyoscar · 09/02/2007 16:33

Depends on your likes etc...I always asked DS to bring me something Sesame Street related. eBay.com has removed that mistique really. Then again DH doesn't travel with work anymore.

Clothes are well good value. Levis are so cheap compared to here.

And get him to get you a little something from Victoria's Secret.

And if he's going to Chicago there's a fab popcorn place on South Madison Avenue.
