I missed it all!!!! What did Spencer say about the others, anything bitchy/nasty?

leese · 22/06/2002 18:18

Spencer, in his usual manner, didn't say very much - I think Davina found his interview quite hard going. He did express surprise at his eviction, as he felt he hadn't done anything 'wrong' that would make people want to evict him - Davina pointed out it was more a case of wanting to keep Alex in.
Showed him footage of those who nominated him, but he wasn't really surprised - just disagreed with their reasons. Also showed him the bit where Jade was warning Alex that Spencer was trying to make him look stupid, in the hopes that would cause some sort of Spencer reaction - it didn't. Davina asked if he thought Jade was cleverer than she was making out - effectively playing one off against the other - he said no, she was basically thick.
Showed the usual montages - the 'love' montage of moments between him and Kate - he squirmed quite a bit and didn't like it - hated being questioned further about their 'relationship', and whether he'd be taking her to Scotland etc. However, he did find the 'Spencer is a disgusting slob' montage amusing - how many Spencer belches can you laugh at? Basically, was not the most dynamic interview, and you didn't miss much....

Tinker · 22/06/2002 18:50

Thanks Leese. Just goes to show, Lynne was right at the start, 'Why are you so cocksure?' He's got nothing to be arrogant about. Oh why, oh why did Lynne get evicted - think of the rows we could have seen!!!

jenny2998 · 23/06/2002 22:34

I'm gutted that he's gone.

I felt that the interview showed a softer, less arrogant side to Spencer. I personally thought he came across quite well, but then maybe I'm a little biased

I'm feeling increasingly sorry for Jade. Was station-hopping on the radio and quite shocked to hear a (female)presenter refer to 'Jade the pig'. Ok so she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer but where do people get off being so nasty? I think she will be really hurt when she gets out and sees all the cruel comments that have been made about her.

I'm glad my 3yr old didn't hear the comment. this is a side to human nature i hope he doesn't experience any sooner than he has to.

jenny2998 · 23/06/2002 22:35

Am i maybe taking this a tad seriously....

leander · 23/06/2002 22:37

I know people are being cruel about Jade but dont you want to punch her in the face when she starts talking in that stupid childish voice.

jenny2998 · 23/06/2002 22:37

I actually sat and watched about an hour's worth of everyone sleeping the other night. I am so sad.

Rara · 24/06/2002 10:33

They may as well just hand the money to Alex now and be done with it. How can anyone else possibly win it now? The programme makers MUST know this. Lok out for increasingly ridiculous situations created in the house to deperately try and keep viewers interested...how about faking a terrorist attack to see how the inmates react? What about a human sacrifice? Take all their clothes away and see if they revert to (more) monkey behaviour...blah blah blah.
The knives are out for Jade on the outside but Sophie on the inside. Lord of the Flies anyone?

Natt · 24/06/2002 10:57

Does anyone else think Alex is a bit in love with tim?

elwar · 24/06/2002 17:12

Starting to feel a bit cynical about BB now. Thanks to their editing, we all got the impression that Spencer never washed. He set us straight on Friday & Alison (on BBLB? or RISE? can't remember) said he showered everyday, it was just that he smoked all the time why she told him he stank. Hmmm.

Rara, LOL Lord of the Flies! It was 'Piggy' who got chucked off a cliff wasn't it?

Lollypop · 24/06/2002 20:05

Has anyone else read Dead Famous by Ben Elton, it describes all the editing etc. I found the muderer too predictable though.

jenny2998 · 24/06/2002 20:24

Don't give it away Loolypop, just finished "This other Eden" by Ben Elton (following on from "Stark" and "Gridlock" and can't wait to read "Dead Famous". I love his books they are just soooo funny

jenny2998 · 24/06/2002 20:29

Ooops that should have been Lollypop, sorry...and where did the winky-man (?!) come from????

chinchilla · 24/06/2002 21:19

Natt - No, I think that Tim is in love with Alex!

Jenny 2998 - Jade deserves all the stick that she gets. I am not particularly enamoured with Sophie, but I'm sure she'd be alright if the others gave her a chance. Have you not read/heard all the comments that J has been making about S's fan*y?? What is she doing looking at it anyway? She is the ring leader in all of the bitching. Adele would probably be nice to Sophie if it wasn't for her.

I can't wait for the bars to come down - it's sooooo boring with them up.

I think Tim should watch his step. He is so bitchy already. People who are new in an already established group should never show their true colours this early in the game. I am surprised that he has been accepted already. Sophie made a HUGE mistake being flattered by lecherous Lee's advances, because it alienated her.

I am beginning to hate all the people in the house. I think that BB should get rid of half of them, and bring in new people, as the next task. That would make things happen

Rara · 24/06/2002 21:48

Have given my Lord of the Flies comparison more thought...
In LOTF two tribes were quickly established; one was led by the "decent" and very law-abiding Ralph who wanted to play fair and didn't like the rules being broken.
The other was led by Jack, the rebel, who ruled with aggression and charisma.
Poor old scapegoat Piggy died at the end by being struck by a rock and knocked off the cliff. However, there was another significant death as well: Simon, the lonely and sensitive one who no one understood. He went mad and the other boys attacked him en masse late at night whilst having a feast and killed him. (Eviction night?)

Now we can all decide for ourselves who fits into the above roles: Jade? Alex? Tim? Sophie? Us, the viewers?...

Dearie me, I obviously need to get out more.

PamT · 25/06/2002 14:36

Rara, that takes me back to my O-level english lit exam, we endured a whole 2 years of LOTF, The Crucible and some terrible poetry. At least I passed though. My memory isn't as good as yours for remembering the plot, having said that, it was nearly 20 years ago.

Dreamer · 25/06/2002 15:03

Even after last nights tears, I think it'll be Sohpie.........?

Queenie · 25/06/2002 16:25

I think for Jade to say Sophie's face wasn't all that was a bit pot calling kettle. Jade is annoying me now and Adele is leading her on but Jade is too thick to know what she is saying. Jade's mum was on GMTV this morning - think they should put her in the house - there's a mind to study if ever there was one.

Dreamer · 25/06/2002 16:26

Queenie - I'm dying to know, What was Jade's Mum like?

Rhiannon · 25/06/2002 17:05

About 45 looked like she'd been around the block if you know what I mean and smokers skin but I'm sure she'a a lovely lady. R

Tinker · 25/06/2002 19:26

Jonny and Sophie up for eviction tonight with neither Alex, Jade or Adele voting for her!

chinchilla · 25/06/2002 19:29

She was not a lovely lady. She said (as a joke) that she would 'split her lip for her' if Jade did something or other wrong. The GMTV presenters looked a bit bemused by her in a 'I'm better than you but I'm laughing along with you' kind of way!
