If you know an Olivia, what is it usually shortened to or is it not shortened at all?

To me Olive is a name in it's own right and as Olivia is sooooo much nicer I wouldn't shorten it to that.

Livi (-she is 5). V. pretty IMO.

Another one with a dd who is known as Livi.

With a friend who has a dd called Livi, I should say - I have not just suddenly gained another child!!

My dd2 is Olivia, but we shorten it to Liv or Livvy. One of dd1's teachers always calls her "Ollie" though!

I know an Olivia who's shortened to Liddy - not sure why!

I know two. One never has her name shortened, the other is called Livvy.

DD isn't Olivia, but someone at school misheard her name and thought it was, and she then shortened it to Lily! (so renamed her twice!)

Know one who is Olivia, one who is ALWAYS Livvy, one who is Liv ...!

I would automatically shorten ths to Libby. Don't know why!!!!

My friend is Oliva, which I think is lovely, she is known as Olive, which reminds me of on the buses!

Thanks everyone for their input. There are 3 of them already at her nursery school! Mine was there first so she is the default Olivia but that means the teachers always try to foist the other Olivia's paintings on me.

She starts school in September. If there are no other Olivia's in her class I will stop thinking about it.

My niece is Olivia and she gets shortened to Looby or Lou, don't know why though!
