Just taken out of oven Nigella's chocolate cherry cupcakes. Trouble is a) meant to be on diet and b) they are for Dh's birthday tomorrow. BUT he doesn't know about them so could I maybe sample just the one little cake???

Yes, eat one ...call it Quality Control if you like

100PerCentCod · 12/01/2007 09:33

no

deaconblue · 12/01/2007 09:34

Cod you are diet fascist! I think quality control is vv important. What if there was something terribly wrong with the cakes??? And surely one muffin wouldn't increase the size of my own personal muffin top that much??

100PerCentCod · 12/01/2007 09:35

no cos all nigella stuff is crap anyway

100PerCentCod · 12/01/2007 09:35

haha answered the thread not realising it was you!

expatinscotland · 12/01/2007 09:36

Diet = DIE + 'T'

Eat the fucking cake.

You only live once.

belgo · 12/01/2007 09:36

go on - you made them - you should try one! I don't believe in dieting anyway.

100PerCentCod · 12/01/2007 09:36

but espat you look like thin thing

BettySpaghetti · 12/01/2007 09:36

exactly, shoppingbags, if there was something wrong with them you might accidently poison everyone at DHs birthday gathering -not a good thing. It could all be avooided by just tasting one cake now.

deaconblue · 12/01/2007 09:37

Ooh good motto Expat. Much better than Weight Watchers "nothing tastes as good as being slim feels"

OP posts:
deaconblue · 12/01/2007 09:38

or "you're not really hungry if you don't fancy a carrot"

Everything in moderation.

I don't believe in diets, either.

Portion control, exercise by doing something you love - for me, that's walking, and moderation rules the day.

moonshine · 12/01/2007 09:40

God I hate those dieting mantras especially 'a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips'. Eat the cake - how much difference can it make!

belgo · 12/01/2007 09:42

Expat, I love walking too.

I think I'll be looking up the recipe for Nigella's chocolate cherry hupcakes, this thread is making me hungry.

belgo · 12/01/2007 09:43

I mean cupcakes, . Trying to type with a toddler on my knee is not easy.

expatinscotland · 12/01/2007 09:45

They're like the smoking platitudes.

'You're only a puff away from 20 a day!'

belgo · 12/01/2007 09:47

shopping - have you eaten it yet?

100PerCentCod · 12/01/2007 09:48

oh yes
i like platitiudes

snig · 12/01/2007 09:50

I'll eat it for you!

pretendmum · 12/01/2007 10:52

deaconblue · 12/01/2007 12:32

whats the point on claiming to be on a diet if you going to eat cake?
