Just taken out of oven Nigella's chocolate cherry cupcakes. Trouble is a) meant to be on diet and b) they are for Dh's birthday tomorrow. BUT he doesn't know about them so could I maybe sample just the one little cake???

BTW, no one seems to mind about the stealing from husband element of the dilemma.

Is cake totally banned if you're on a diet?

LadyTophamHatt · 12/01/2007 12:56

Errr...Durr....no brainer!

Eat the cake!

kittylette · 12/01/2007 12:57

i only said that cause i know what its like

but if your trying to loose weight and have 'just one cake' today, then tomorrow have 'just one piece of pizza' ect it never happens

ive been watching what i eat for 3 days and havent been naughty, i know its not long, but this is the first time ive actully felt like im on the right track, ive been doing 30 mins of exercise at night too

not a lecture, i just know it can be done

I know what you mean kitty. Behind my frivolous facade is a wobbly belly which I really would like to get rid of. Strictly speaking Just us 2 as dh is only wageearner I suppose the ingredients are his. But usually we operate on a what's mine is mine and what's his is mine basis, I think we're ok on that front.
Not really agonising over cake, just thought it might get some amusing responses and so it has.

Still want to konw what it tastes like Shoppingbags

belgo · 12/01/2007 13:15

the cake, not the buggy wheels

deaconblue · 12/01/2007 19:21

Ok cake has been scoffed! Isn't it amazing how the build up is always more exciting than the event itself? Cake very tasty, icing yuk. Should have made a chocolate fudge icing instead of the recommended ganache...

was it nice or TOO SWEET

deaconblue · 12/01/2007 19:25

Nothing, I mean nothing, is too sweet. No, too bitter as icing was just 70% dark choc and cream. Normal people may well like it come to think about it. I would have white choc on everything if I could get away with it.
