It's been a long time comtess, what can I say? Grin. And yes I did!

I had to err on the side of caution as DS seems to be one of the only teens not wedded to his phone (well him and one of his friends who's even odder) so I had no faith that the text 'to let you know I'm on my way home' would ever be sent. It wasn't

AnneEtAramis · 16/04/2016 22:31

I think I need to retire too given I want to be on top form for Sunday!!

LetUs - I am loving The Durrells.

Sometimes you just need to go back to basics.

Dog stance is ... And those thighs (fancy)

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 16/04/2016 22:36

That Dog & Aramis pic! God, life don't get much better!!!

I bet there was sweat that day.

DartsTart · 16/04/2016 22:47
FancyFancy · 16/04/2016 22:52

They have been noticed obs Grin

LetUsPrey · 16/04/2016 22:53

Sleep well Comtess.

You coming to Corfu too then Anne?

Aramis ... Dog ... Sweaty ... Shower ... Me .... I need a moment.

Actually I have unfinished business - well finished then started again and finished again - in the hayloft. There's a large portion of Paella served up by Madame waiting for me.

Night wenches. Have saucy dream filled nights x

FancyFancy · 16/04/2016 23:33

Night letus - mind you don't get indigestion!

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

It's nice and sunny here. The cats are fed the chickens are fed, DS will be fed just as soon as stuff de-frosts and, erm. that's it probably.

Since no-one is here, or has been since I left. I feel a thorough cleaning session is in order.

Hmm

Yep - that looks better. The tav does not do clean and sparkly. It's just wrong.

Public service announcement: Normal grumpy/tired sevrice will be resumed as soon as Real Life interferes and DS starts whining about being told to come off his Hudl/turn off the tv/do his homework.

LetUsPrey · 17/04/2016 09:03

Morning wenches.

Tav's looking perfect. Not too clean and tidy. Excellent job Helen!

No indigestion Fancy, although I was properly full Grin

Sunny here too. All the usual stuff to do today.

Have fabulous days wenches x

Obs2016 · 17/04/2016 09:18

Morning. Brew
Nice work Helen. Looks clean (but not TOO clean) and spangly.

Joins Anne and LetUs to ponder when the Durrell's are ever going to get their money, how much more of the kitchen ceiling is going to fall in, and how many puppies and iguanas are going to be rescued, tonight.

I too hope it stays sunny and doesn't rain. I'm taking ds2 to a man who promises to get him riding his bike. He almost can, but he's just scared, and I've done endless running after him holding onto his seat. Enough. (Sore back) I'm farming the job out to someone else.

Morning! Making lists and contemplating WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE ahead of house move. Getting the fear.

Anyone have any tips for what to look for in / how to look for a good removals service?

Oh and...this man...

Grin

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 17/04/2016 11:18

Removals tip: pay someone to pack for you. OMG. The best £200 I have ever EVER spent

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 17/04/2016 11:19

Oh & KLAXON KLAXON Trailer in THREE WEEKS. Repeat, THREE WEEKS

DartsTart · 17/04/2016 11:31

What what what
Where did you get the Intel

Obs2016 · 17/04/2016 11:33

Hoorah. Thank goodness for that.

DartsTart · 17/04/2016 11:37

madame having just endured the hell of the move - pay someone to do it....... Negotiate hard on the price - I got £1k knocked off the price for the move - and have plenty of wine to hand .....

Also make a box up with plates/ cutlery/ bottle opener - WINE - you will need it at the other end for sure - and when you are confronted with 12 boxes in the kitchen - that is the only one you need to open ......

Also take the light bulbs out of your lamps - put them in a separate box - the removers take them out and the. You can never find the bloody things -

Also empty your kitchen - they will happily back your rubbish .......

DartsTart · 17/04/2016 11:38

Am going to be glued to my telly

ApricotCrush · 17/04/2016 12:02

Wow, fantastic! About time too! Smile

The last time we moved, which was admittedly 30 years ago, we did it all ourselves. I don't trust anyone with my stuff. And do they really take the light bulbs? That's a bit rough on the new owners when it gets dark and they find they have no lights. I thought they were considered to be fixtures. Hmm

FancyFancy · 17/04/2016 14:58

Afternoon

3 weeks until we see the trailer? WTF? Why are they making us wait for that as well? Not sure why I expect any better tbh. The BBC trailers the fuck out of ShitEnders which we all know is on every fucking week, but can't be arsed about other programmes.

Re: moving madame? What everyone else said about paying for a packing service, Fantastic value for money & saved a huge amount of hassle. I have heard some people say that if you pack yourself & there are any breakages, that some removal companies will try to argue that your packing was at fault & so make it harder to claim against them. If they've packed everything themselves they cannot argue that.

What tart said re: making sure that everyhing you need for the first night is packed together & clearly labelled - bedding, pj's, clean clothes for the next day, towels, kitchen stuff for tea/coffee/wine/breakfast.

Finally: eat out/takeaway on the first night and turn heating & hot water on the minute you get in the house - or you'll forget & end up having a cold bath Grin

FancyFancy · 17/04/2016 15:00

apricot I think tart meant that they take the lightbulbs out of your table/floor/bedside lamps etc & pack them separately.

MadamedeChevreuse · 17/04/2016 15:11

Errrrrr...we wont be paying for a packing service we are skint but Im sure they are great idea..any tips apart from that? Grin
