Bloody hell madame . And still the govt want to press ahead with academisation. David Laws said years ago that a weakness with the arrangements for academies was that there was no equivalent replacement for the oversight function of LEAs. The DoE (according to him) did not have the capacity to fulfil that role and yet that is who academies are accountable to. Sure there are some shit LEAs at present, but there are also many good ones who would have stopped this situation from developing. It's all so fucking predictable

Particularly given that, following losing it with DS1 earlier this evening, I have just done the same with DS2. I am hiding in the bedroom with my iPad and a vodka and coke. You know when children go through a phase of preferring one parent over the other? DS1 did it (only wanted dad) for a few months when he was about two. DS2 started it at a similar age. He's 9.5 now and I'm still waiting for the phase to come to an end. Gets a bit much at times. Sorry.
