Nope not me, would rather wait a week or so until it is a bit quieter, plus no money for sales anyhow lol.

Carmenere · 27/12/2006 14:12

I don't understand the compulsion of some people to go to the sales so soon after the orgy of shopping before Christmas??

SantasPersonalClown · 27/12/2006 14:14

I went today as it's my birthday and it's my tradition!!! I always get money for christmas and birthday to do just that!!

TEEstheCEEsontobejolly · 27/12/2006 14:15

I think it's sick that shops go on sale on Boxing Day.

we went to childrens party.

wannaBeOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 27/12/2006 14:17

good god no. couldn't even bear the thought of it. dh used to go to the next sale, but at about 7 not 5, but didn't bother this year either.

NannyL · 27/12/2006 14:18

No way

but i did give blood though

2nervesnapartridgeinapeartree · 27/12/2006 14:22

Not me. I can't believe some people would leave their beds at some ungodly hour to queue up in the cold to buy some very ordinary clothes like Next. I mean they are not that expensive to begin with are they? Best of British too you if you are going.

2nervesnapartridgeinapeartree · 27/12/2006 14:23

To not too. Sorry.

vitomum · 27/12/2006 14:25

apprantly today is the busiest day of the whole year at the shops. WHY?

i don't want to go near another shop till at least the end of January

FiveGoldenFIMBOIDs · 27/12/2006 14:27

Why is it sick TC? I live miles away from my friends and family, if I lived closer then I would see them rather than go shopping on Boxing Day. As it was I did get some brilliant stuff for my dd in Zara, which I wouldn't get next week as the sizes would be gone. I also bought boots for my self in Clarks which were reduced to £20.

NOELallie · 27/12/2006 14:46

No. I'd rather eat 2 day old cold boiled sprouts. Don't like shops, don't like shopping and neither do my kids. DH does so he can do it alone .

BaileysMilkshake · 27/12/2006 14:49

No we had Christmas Day 2 as IL's came and DC's had loads more presents and a big dinner etc.

However DH was at the NEXT sale (at an retail park) at 5am this morning, and then took DD to the shopping centre to try his luck there at about 10am - however it was too busy on the second attempt so he came home with nothing but a Mickey Mouse puzzle for DC's from the Disney store!

SpicymulledSheraz · 27/12/2006 15:02

Not me. hate shopping at the best of times. Couldn't think of anything worse than battling over a half price sequin top....thats why God invented online shopping!

Glitterygookwithchocsonthetree · 27/12/2006 15:03

God no.

We were driving back from The Lakes yesterday - when we got to the M60 where the Trafford Centre was it was choc-a-block. THe car park was rammed and there was traffic to get in right back to the motorway slip road. People must be bloody nuts.

Glitterygookwithchocsonthetree · 27/12/2006 15:04

And I certainly wouldn't queue up for Next stuff either. It's crap.

SherlockLGJ · 27/12/2006 15:05

Dear God No......

peegeeinapeartree · 27/12/2006 15:07

urgh, I don't like shopping at all, especially with the dc in tow (dh refuses to come, and if I do drag him he behaves worse than the dc!)

Nope, have no money to spend anyway, and I much prefer to shop online...

We treat boxing day as a holiday, so we visited my FIL and his wife, exchanged gifts with them and spent the afternoon with them (surprisingly pleasant it was too )

Shopping on boxing day strikes me as the same cosumer madness that affects people before christmas...

SherlockLGJ · 27/12/2006 15:09

I would rather stick pins in my own eyeballs.

let me see.... stay at home with DH and DS and have a lovely time....... or go and stand in line with strangers to hand over hard earned cash.

No competition.

twinsetandpearls · 27/12/2006 15:16

No but we should have done as we have saved money to buy a new television and a new bed and I bet we have missed the bargains. ut it is so rare we have time at home together as a family. I have been in pyjamamas since christmas day and it feels fantastic to not have to face the outside world.

JollyOldSaintNikkielas · 27/12/2006 19:01

I won't go on Boxing day as I think that they should still be shut!
Usually go on 27th but we went to the pictures today as I am knackered

TBH Next clothes are still expensive to me at full price so I tend to go there in the sales !

expatinscotland · 27/12/2006 19:02

No, the last thing we need is more stuff.

jalopy · 27/12/2006 19:09

Nope. It's a vulgar activity.

I'm a "fifth" one too, no money to go near the shops anyway!
